If you want to follow Insomniac Games’ connected Spider-Man story, play Marvel’s Spider-Man first, then Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, then Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. That is PlayStation’s recommended narrative order—not a definitive ranking of every Spider-Man game ever made.
What order should you play the Insomniac Spider-Man games?
- Marvel’s Spider-Man — Start with Peter Parker’s story. On PS5 and PC, look for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered; the PS4 version is the Game of the Year Edition.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales — Continue with Peter’s protégé as he takes the lead in a distinct story set one year after the first game.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — Finish with Peter and Miles together, facing Venom and a new symbiote threat. PlayStation’s guide places it about nine months after Miles Morales.
This order follows the story’s character relationships and timeline. You can choose a single game instead, but the later entries assume more context about the heroes and their partnership.

Choose Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for the story starting point
It introduces Peter as he balances his personal life with being Spider-Man, making it the clearest entry if you may play the other two later. PlayStation identifies the PS5 Remastered and PS4 Game of the Year Edition as including The City That Never Sleeps expansion; check the specific edition listing on your platform.

Choose Miles Morales for a standalone next chapter led by Miles
This is not a replacement edition of the first game. It follows Miles as he steps into his own role and confronts a violent gang war. It is the middle story in the sequence, so it makes most sense after Peter’s first chapter.
Choose Spider-Man 2 to play both heroes in the later chapter
The sequel brings Peter and Miles together as playable Spider-Men. Its PC feature listing describes an expanded New York that includes Brooklyn, Queens, and Coney Island, with switching between the heroes during open-world exploration. Starting here gives you both leads, but it also means skipping the earlier stories that establish them.

PS5: verify what an edition includes
- The PS5 Ultimate Edition of Miles Morales includes Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, according to Insomniac’s support information.
- Insomniac says buyers of the PS4 disc version need a PS5 with a disc drive to use the free upgrade offer. A disc cannot be used with a digital-only PS5.
- Confirm the included games and upgrade terms in the listing for your region; editions and offers are not interchangeable across every platform.
PC: keyboard and mouse are supported
Steam lists full mouse-and-keyboard support for Spider-Man 2, as well as DualSense support. A controller is optional. Steam says a wired USB connection is required for the full range of DualSense features.
