The Best Team Combos in Limbus Company: How to Build a Squad

Build a practical Limbus Company squad around the statuses, resources, and Sin affinities your Identities support. Then adapt for clashes, damage coverage, survivability, and game mode.

The best team combo in Limbus Company is usually the one your roster can make work: build around a shared status, resource, or Sin resonance, then check clash strength, damage coverage, and survivability. There is no verified single lineup that dominates every fight or mode, and a squad of strong Identities without a shared theme can still succeed.

What makes a team combo work?

In Limbus Company, you assemble a squad from alternate versions of the Sinners called Identities, then equip E.G.O associated with Abnormalities. Those are distinct parts of team-building: an Identity brings its skills and passives, while E.G.O adds another set of tools. Project Moon describes these systems on its official game site, but does not publish a best-team tier list.

A useful default is a coherent core: multiple Identities apply or benefit from the same status, build the same resource, or support recurring Sin resonance. Prydwen’s beginner guide explains those approaches while noting that strong, non-synergistic Identities can also form a viable squad. Treat synergy as a way to make a team easier to plan, not a rule that every slot must obey.

How to build a team from the Identities you own

  1. Start with your roster. List your available Identities and look for repeated status effects, shared resources, or useful Sin affinities. For a newer account, building from early or free Identities can be more practical than chasing a supposed meta pick that does not fit your collection.
  2. Choose one core mechanic. Pick a status or resource that several of your available kits can apply, maintain, or exploit. Avoid assuming a mechanic will work just because one Identity uses it; the rest of the squad needs to support the plan.
  3. Check clash reliability. Review the skills you expect to use and whether the squad can win clashes consistently. Status and resource payoffs are less dependable if the team routinely loses the clashes needed to set them up.
  4. Check damage coverage. Compare the squad’s damage types with the resistances of the fight you are preparing for. Do not assume a team focused on one damage type will perform equally well against every enemy.
  5. Inspect Sin affinities and resonance. See whether your chosen skills can meet relevant resonance or passive requirements during actual play. A passive threshold only helps when the team can produce the needed affinities reliably.
  6. Plan for survival. Consider whether the fight calls for durability, healing, or Sanity support, and make room for it if the damage-focused core is too fragile.
  7. Adjust for the mode. Story encounters and Mirror Dungeon runs put different demands on a squad. In Mirror Dungeon, Gifts and route choices can strengthen a team plan; in other fights, those run-specific bonuses are not a reason to ignore clash and resistance needs.

Seven common team archetypes

A HostedGG guide updated September 12, 2026 identifies seven common archetypes. These are organizing options, not a ranking: the available evidence does not establish that one is universally strongest or that every archetype is equally effective in every mode.

Archetype What to build around What to check
Bleed Applying Bleed and using Identity kits that benefit from it. Whether your squad can maintain the status rather than relying on a single source.
Rupture A coordinated Rupture core. Whether the selected kits can both apply Rupture and capitalize on it.
Burn Units that apply or exploit Burn. Whether your roster and the encounter support the plan.
Tremor Tremor application and relevant payoffs. Whether the team is built to use Tremor rather than splitting its focus across unrelated damage engines.
Sinking A shared Sinking core. How the specific Identity kits and the fight fit together.
Poise The Poise resource and Identities that exploit it. Whether the team can build and make useful use of Poise.
Charge The Charge resource as a composition anchor. Whether your roster includes both enablers and useful payoffs.

The table describes how to think about each archetype; it is not a set of fixed lineups. A team should be built from the mechanics and skills of the Identities you actually have, rather than from the archetype label alone.

When a themed team is not the right answer

A status or resource core is a convenient starting point, but do not force one if it makes the squad weaker. Strong individual Identities without a shared mechanic can still work, as Prydwen notes. For a particular fight, a less cohesive team may be preferable if it improves clash results, covers a needed damage type, or survives more reliably.

Likewise, avoid treating a general archetype recommendation as a guarantee for every encounter. Enemy resistances, your available kits, and the demands of the mode all affect whether a team plan is practical.

Planning a Mirror Dungeon run

In Mirror Dungeon, Gifts can complement a chosen archetype, so it makes sense to plan around the mechanics your squad already uses. Limbus Company Tools is a fan-made resource with team builders and Mirror Dungeon planners. Its Universal Gifts & Gift Combos guide covers combinations for the seven archetypes, but explicitly describes Gift ordering as approximate and dependent on composition and situation. Use it as a planning aid, not an official recommendation or a universal ranking.

How to choose between the archetypes

  • Choose the archetype your roster can support with multiple useful kits, not simply the one that sounds strongest.
  • Prefer a different core if your preferred team cannot win clashes reliably or is poorly matched to an encounter’s damage resistances.
  • Consider resonance and survival needs alongside the status or resource engine.
  • In Mirror Dungeon, let the Gifts and route choices available during the run inform your plan; do not treat a generic Gift order as fixed.
