The Division Resurgence launched worldwide on iOS and Android on March 31, 2026. Ubisoft’s free-to-play mobile shooter brings a new New York campaign set between The Division and The Division 2, with solo and co-op play, PvP, and the Dark Zone.
When did The Division Resurgence launch, and where can you play it?
Ubisoft announced that The Division Resurgence was available worldwide for free on iOS and Android on March 31, 2026. Ubisoft called it the franchise’s first mobile entry. Ubisoft’s launch-day announcement confirms the date and mobile availability.
The game is free to play, but the Google Play listing checked on August 20, 2026 identifies in-app purchases, including random items. The available information does not establish current prices or say that spending is required to access the main campaign. Google Play’s listing may change over time.
What is the story and what can you do in the game?
The campaign is set in New York between The Division and The Division 2, during the Green Poison crisis. You play a newly activated Division agent trying to restore order. Ubisoft’s launch overview names the Raiders, Rikers, Cleaners, and the new Freemen faction. Ubisoft News’ launch article describes the setting and launch features.

Campaign, co-op, and Specializations
You can play the campaign solo or with up to three teammates. Ubisoft also says players can team up with people they encounter in the open world. Five Specializations were listed at launch: Demolitionist, Bulwark, Field Medic, Tech Operator, and Vanguard. The game includes looting, crafting, modding, and upgrading weapons and gear, and allows players to switch Specializations during play.
PvP and the Dark Zone
Conflict offers competitive PvP. The Dark Zone is a PvPvE extraction mode: players seek high-end loot and must extract it to secure it. These modes sit alongside the story campaign rather than replacing it.

How do controls, cross-platform play, and progression work?
Touch controls are introduced in the tutorial, and Ubisoft says Bluetooth controllers can also be used. That confirms controller support generally, not universal compatibility with every controller, phone, or operating-system version; check your device and controller specifications before buying an accessory.
Ubisoft’s account guidance says the same Ubisoft Connect account shares progression and in-app purchases across platforms. Players can join friends across platforms when they are on the same server. Characters and purchases remain tied to their original server, and loot, equipment, skins, and currency cannot be transferred between characters. Can you play on PC?
Ubisoft reported on April 28, 2026 that PC early access was available through Ubisoft Connect for technical testing, with cross-progression and cross-platform support. Its roadmap said progression would carry over to the official PC launch planned for Season 2, and that Season 3 was planned to bring a major story expansion in winter. Those were roadmap plans at the time, not confirmation that every milestone subsequently shipped. Ubisoft’s April 28 roadmap article is the dated source for that PC information.
The Google Play listing checked on August 20, 2026 described Season 2: The Call, a Classified Ops pass, time-limited events, and speedrun missions. Because store listings and game availability can change, check the current platform listing for the latest status.

How much storage does the mobile game need?
Ubisoft’s launch community update estimated around 10.5 GB of storage required and recommended having 17 GB free on the device. These are dated support figures, so check the current store listing and device requirements before installing; updates may affect the space needed.
