What is Greymoor?
The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor is an ESO chapter built around a gothic story in which a Vampire Lord threatens Tamriel. Bethesda describes it as the next stage of the Dark Heart of Skyrim adventure, following the Harrowstorm DLC. It brings the story to Western Skyrim, a region of Tamriel, rather than presenting a new standalone game. Bethesda’s Greymoor chapter page outlines the story and its setting.
What does the chapter add?

The chapter’s central conflict is stopping a powerful Vampire Lord from enslaving Tamriel. The story is framed around sinister secrets and betrayals, and continues an adventure that began with the Harrowstorm DLC.
Antiquities
Antiquities is Greymoor’s signature activity: players search for clues and dig up valuable finds. It encourages exploration well beyond Western Skyrim. Bethesda describes it this way: “With the new Antiquities system arriving as part of the Greymoor Chapter, you can travel all over the continent (and beyond!).” Bethesda’s Antiquities feature article introduces the system. ESO Support says Antiquities can be found in Western Skyrim and nearly all earlier base-game, Chapter, and DLC zones. Is Greymoor the same as Update 26?
No. Greymoor’s chapter content and Update 26 were separate. Bethesda’s 2020 launch announcement says Greymoor and Update 26 went live across platforms; Update 26 was a base-game update available to all ESO players without buying the chapter. It included a rework of the Vampire skill line, but that base-game change should not be mistaken for chapter-exclusive content. Bethesda’s “Now Live” announcement
How do you access Western Skyrim?
ESO Support states that access to Western Skyrim requires owning the Greymoor chapter or having ESO Plus. This is the support page’s stated rule; entitlements can depend on current platform, region, and account circumstances, so check the live support and store information for your account before purchasing. Bethesda’s launch coverage identifies 2020 as the release year. Its Antiquities article gave the later release dates as May 26, 2020 for PC/Mac and June 9, 2020 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
