Activision announced its launch for October 9, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT, with themed content for Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone. The dates, prices and trial details below describe that 2025 announcement; they do not establish what is available now.
When did The Haunting start?
Call of Duty Staff announced that Season 06 would launch on October 9, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT. The announcement described The Haunting as a seasonal event spanning Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies, as well as Warzone. Read the official Season 06 announcement.
That is a historical launch date, not confirmation that the event remains live in October 2026.
What came to Black Ops 6 Multiplayer?
Halloween maps and variants
Season 06 named three new maps: Gravity and Rig for 6v6 Core, and Mothball for Strike. It also brought Boo-Town, a nighttime Halloween makeover of Nuketown.

Slasher Deathmatch
This limited-time mode drew on Jason Voorhees and Chucky. Each match had four rounds, with two of the eight survivors randomly chosen as slashers at the start of each round; a new pair was selected in later rounds. Survivors could win by eliminating both slashers or surviving until the round ended. Slashers won by eliminating survivors before time ran out. The announcement also said survivors would scream automatically every 30 seconds.
What changed in Zombies?
Haunted Havoc
Haunted Havoc was announced for all six Zombies maps: Reckoning, Shattered Veil, The Tomb, Citadelle des Morts, Terminus and Liberty Falls. Pumpkin-headed zombies and Jack-o’-Lantern drops added Halloween elements, while a forced Rampage Inducer increased the early pressure. Lanterns could hold rewards or conceal a Mimic.
The announcement also described reduced zombie health through Round 15 alongside damage that rose faster, changing the early-round difficulty curve. It named the Jacked Lanterns Whimsical GobbleGum and two leaderboard events, Death Pit and Extinction Protocol.

Main Quest rewards
For each map, completing its Main Quest during the event was announced to earn five unique GobbleGums, one Ultra GobbleGum and 15,000 XP. These were event-specific rewards, not a general or recurring XP rate.

Haunting maps and modes
Warzone received nighttime Haunting variants of Verdansk and Rebirth Island. Zombie Royale returned; the announced win condition was for the last squad with a living Operator to remain. The event also offered Casual Z in Battle Royale and Resurgence variants, mixing human and bot Operators and adding zombies.
The announcement additionally listed a new Warzone Ranked Play season for both Battle Royale and Resurgence.

Which weapons and attachments were announced?
Season 06 named four weapons and two attachments. The publisher characterized the Dresden 9mm’s handling and performance in its announcement; those descriptions are promotional, not independent testing.

The announcement described the Dresden 9mm as a full-auto SMG with high damage, manageable recoil, short range and a slower fire rate. It did not provide comparative test results.
What did the Battle Pass and free trial include?
For the 2025 season, Call of Duty Staff listed the Haunting Battle Pass at 1,100 COD Points and the Battle Pass Bundle at 2,400 COD Points. The pass was described as containing more than 110 unlockable items, excluding BlackCell, including two free base weapons. The announcement also promoted BlackCell rewards, login and event rewards, and themed store bundles, including Jason and Predator. Prices and availability were specific to that announcement and are not confirmed as current.

A free Black Ops 6 trial was announced from October 9, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT, through October 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. PT. It included Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies, but excluded Ranked Play. That trial window has passed.
How to understand the event’s access options
The seasonal announcement combined themed gameplay with optional paid content. Its free-trial offer was time-limited; the Battle Pass, BlackCell and store bundles were separate access or purchase paths. Which part mattered most depended on whether a player wanted Multiplayer, round-based Zombies or Warzone, and whether they preferred the limited-time Halloween rules. The announcement does not establish current event availability, present-day prices or comparative superiority among modes and items.
