The May 2026 date is superseded. Any article, forum thread, or social post citing it should be read as a record of the first delay, not a current release plan.
What Rockstar said about the first delay
Rockstar’s May 2025 announcement opened with an acknowledgment of the wait: “We understand this is later than you expected.” The company tied the postponement to finishing the game, not to a specific technical problem or a marketing decision. Rockstar did not give a detailed breakdown of what the extra months covered, so anything more specific than that is speculation.

The headline’s phrase, “at least give us a screenshot,” is the clearest fan reaction attached to this story. It is worth separating what can be established from what the headline implies.

Rockstar’s game page currently lists two platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It labels PS5 as the platform the game “Plays Best On.” The page does not list PC.

If you are deciding which console to buy for the game, use the official page as the authority on which systems are supported and check current retailer pricing directly.

- Open Rockstar Games’ official Grand Theft Auto VI page and check the release date shown there.
- Compare it with the November 2025 announcement, which set November 19, 2026.
- If a page or post still shows May 26, 2026, treat it as outdated and note the revision date when you cite it.
Dates on third-party sites often lag behind Rockstar’s own announcements, so the official page should be the reference for any date you publish.
