The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Hyrule is not an officially unveiled Nintendo game. A September 2026 report describes it as a fan-created hardcover book inspired by Ocarina of Time, and says it is not affiliated with Nintendo. The similarly named official Nintendo game is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, a separate Nintendo Switch release.
What is Echoes of Hyrule?
Gaming ProMax reported on September 21, 2026, that Game Press announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Hyrule as a fan-created book. The report describes a 332-page hardcover retelling Ocarina of Time through the perspectives of supporting characters who are usually in the background. Its stories are arranged chronologically, begin before the game’s events, and extend beyond Hyrule; Link serves as a connecting figure rather than the central protagonist. The report names Anna-Victòria Teixidó, who writes as Kurusonna, as the author. These details come from secondary reporting; a publisher listing was not available to independently confirm them. Is Echoes of Hyrule an official Zelda game?
No. The available account identifies Echoes of Hyrule as a fan-created book, not a Nintendo product. The word “unveiled” in coverage of the book should not be read as a Nintendo game announcement.
The official game with a similar name
Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom during its June 18, 2024 Nintendo Direct and said it would launch on Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024. In that game, Zelda uses the Tri Rod to create “echoes”—imitations of objects found in the environment—to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. It is a separate title from the reported book.
