Lung is a race, not a faction or location, in Arknights: Endfield. For the “It’s a Lung!” camera mission, the required operator is Chen Qianyu. Her official profile identifies her as a Lung, and she is a story-unlocked five-star Guard who uses a Sword.
However, the event containing this mission—Carly’s Fairytale of the Valley—ended on February 24, 2026. Unless the developers bring it back, the mission is not currently available.

What does “Lung” mean?
Lung is the in-game name for an Elder race modeled on Chinese or Eastern dragons. Lung characters may have antler-like horns, serpentine tails, hair tufts, whiskers, manes, fins, or scales, although appearance alone is not a reliable way to identify the race.

Most importantly, Lung is not:
- a faction;
- a region;
- an element or combat class;
- an operator origin; or
- the same thing as Lungmen from the original Arknights.
The mission wording—“at least 1 operator who is a Lung”—refers specifically to the race label in an operator’s profile.
Which operator is a Lung?
As of August 8, 2026, the documented playable Lung operator for this requirement is Chen Qianyu. Her official character profile lists:
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Name | Chen Qianyu |
| Rarity | ★★★★★ |
| Class | Guard |
| Weapon | Sword |
| Damage type | Physical |
| Faction/authentication | Endfield Industries |
| Race | Lung |
Check the official Chen Qianyu character entry for the profile details. Chen is obtained through story progression rather than requiring a gacha pull, according to current beginner-guide coverage.

Why the photo may fail
Chen is in the party but not in the picture
The objective checks the photograph, not merely the current party. Chen Qianyu must be visibly included in the image.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesOnly two operators are visible
The requirement is at least three operators in the photograph. Chen plus one other operator is not enough.

The formation is incorrect
Set Group Pose Formation to exactly Varied. The correct operators and waterfall will not compensate for a different formation setting.
You selected the wrong Chen
Chen Qianyu is an Endfield operator. She is not the same character as Ch’en from the original Arknights, and the original game’s Ch’en cannot satisfy an Endfield race requirement.
You used appearance instead of the profile label
Other operators may have animal-inspired or mythological designs, but horns, tails, scales, or similar features do not prove that an operator is Lung. Use the race field in the operator profile.
Event availability and rewards
Carly’s Fairytale of the Valley ran from February 7 to February 24, 2026. The listed schedule was 12:00 on February 7 through 04:00 on February 24 in both the Americas/Europe schedule shown as UTC−5 and the Asia schedule shown as UTC+8.

As of August 8, 2026, the event and its mission were over and not repeatable unless the developers return them. The later Carly’s Fairytale of Wuling event was a separate camera event in the Wuling region; it did not permanently reactivate the Valley mission.
The individual “It’s a Lung!” mission listed these rewards:
- Oroberyl ×200
- Mark of Perseverance ×2
- T-Creds ×30,000
- Arms INSP Set ×30
These are the rewards for this photograph mission alone, not the combined reward total for all seven camera missions.
Common misconception: Lung versus Lungmen
An operator from Lungmen is not automatically a Lung. Lungmen is a location associated with the original Arknights; Lung is a race designation in Arknights: Endfield. For this challenge, the relevant evidence is the operator profile’s race field, which is why Chen Qianyu is the correct solution.
Likewise, Chen is a five-star Sword-wielding Guard, not a six-star Great Sword user. Those descriptions are outdated or incorrect.
See the mission listing and the official operator roster for the relevant race and mission information.
