But it is not automatically a good deal. If its live U.S. price remains materially higher than the $69.99 KIWI K4 Boost or the $79.99 BOBOVR E3 Pro, those alternatives offer more battery value.
The KIWI K4 Boost is the better conventional elite-style bargain. The BOBOVR E3 Pro is the better battery-focused choice if you want a swappable battery system without the bulk of BOBOVR’s heavier S3 Pro halo strap.

Check the Meta deal before buying
The exact price of Meta’s strap changes by retailer and promotion, and the available evidence does not establish a single current deal price. Check the checkout price, retailer, condition and return policy before treating it as a bargain. A new U.S. unit should be compared against the current prices of the alternatives—not against an old MSRP or an advertised percentage discount.

#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Meta Quest 3/Quest 3s: Still using BOBOVR’s innovative power swap design, the new battery architecture separates the discharge module from the battery pack, reducing battery pack heat. It also improves the discharge efficiency by 6% compared to the old model, and adds low-battery sound reminders and accurate battery levels;
- Brand new B100 battery system: Compared with B2, while the volume remains unchanged, the capacity is increased from 5200mah to 10000mah, the battery capacity is increased by 92%, and the weight is only increased by 28%. Thanks to the higher output efficiency, the available capacity is B2 2 times;
- S3 Pro has a built-in Head Air Cooling System: which uses silent technology to keep the head and face cool and comfortable even when Quest3/3S is worn for a long time, and supports 100-level flexible wind speed adjustment (Press the roller to open);
- The structure of the back of the head is optimized,Flattened back structure enhances comfort during seated or reclined use, with adjustable height and removable overhead support.

What Meta’s official battery strap does well
The Meta Quest Elite Strap with Battery is an integrated first-party accessory for Quest 3 and Quest 3S. The battery is built into the rear strap rather than attached as a removable power pack. Meta’s retailer listing specifies a 2,330mAh, 17.9Wh battery and claims up to two additional hours of playtime. Those are manufacturer or retailer figures, not independent runtime testing.
Its main advantage is simplicity. The strap is designed around Meta’s headset and has the clearest compatibility case with Meta’s charging dock, compact charging dock and carrying case. It also charges the headset and strap through the integrated system, reducing the need to manage a separate battery and cable. See the retailer’s product specifications for the current listing.
The elite-style design uses rear support and a top strap instead of a floating halo ring. That can be preferable for active games because the headset is held in a familiar, relatively anchored position. Comfort is still personal: head shape, glasses, hair, facial interface and adjustment all affect the result. The strap’s extra rear weight may improve balance against Quest 3’s front-heavy headset, but it also increases total mass.
Why it may still be poor value
Meta’s strap prioritizes integration rather than maximum capacity or flexibility. Its claimed two-hour extension is lower than the advertised figures for both highlighted alternatives, and its battery is not designed as a quick-swap pack. The official accessory also gives you fewer choices if you later decide you want spare batteries, faster charging or a halo fit.
That does not make it a bad product. It makes the price decisive. Meta becomes easier to justify when a promotion brings it close to reputable third-party straps, when you already own Meta charging accessories, or when official support and minimal compatibility uncertainty matter more than battery capacity.
KIWI K4 Boost: the best value elite-style alternative
The KIWI design K4 Boost is the closest direct substitute for Meta’s design. It is an elite-style strap for Quest 3 and Quest 3S, listed at $69.99 at the time represented by the supplied product information.

- Enjoy 10000mAh of extended playtime. This battery head strap adds extra hours of gaming and actively solves power limit issues. Designed specifically for Meta Quest 3S, it can extend playtime by 2-4 hours and ensures stable performance during intense VR workouts and active gaming sessions
- Achieve a customizable fit for various head sizes. Featuring an ergonomic rotary knob, this strap provides easily adjustable sizing to accommodate different head shapes for teens and adults. It seamlessly integrates with your VR headset to reduce facial pressure and improve your overall experience
- Utilize 20W fast charging. Experience seamless power for your VR sessions. Supporting 20W input/output for fast, stable charging, this unit is designed for devices compatible with Quest 3/3S. It powers both the headset and battery pack to keep you playing without interruptions
- Enjoy 52-degree flip-up convenience. Engineered with rotating side strap hinges, this design allows you to check your phone or surroundings by simply flipping up the headset without removing it. This practical alternative to the official elite strap seamlessly enhances your virtual experience
- Experience a durable and sweat-free design. It features a reinforced charging connector and utilizes 20W fast charging to power your devices quickly. The open-design rear pad ensures rapid heat dissipation, preventing that stuffy feeling for lasting comfort
KIWI lists a 5,300mAh, 20.4Wh battery and claims up to 2.5 hours of additional playtime in its comparison material. The product page also uses “up to three hours” language, so the conservative 2.5-hour figure is the more useful comparison. Actual runtime depends on the game, display settings, wireless PC VR, audio and battery-management behavior.
Its DualBoost system is designed to charge the headset and strap battery simultaneously. KIWI says a suitable 45W adapter can deliver up to 25W to the headset while charging the strap, with approximately 2.5 hours for a full recharge of both devices in its stated scenario. That does not establish that a 45W adapter is included, nor that every existing Quest charger will produce the same result. Check the current box contents and use an appropriate charger and cable.
The K4 Boost also lists a 52-degree damping hinge, an 18-month warranty, a 30-day money-back guarantee and lifetime customer support. These are KIWI’s stated policies and product claims. It is a particularly sensible pick for buyers who want:
- a lower-cost replacement for Meta’s elite-style strap;
- a more secure-feeling design for movement-heavy games;
- simultaneous charging without a removable battery system; and
- more battery capacity without choosing the heaviest option.
Its limitations are equally clear. The battery is integrated, so you cannot quickly replace it with a charged spare. Elite-style straps may also transfer more pressure through the facial interface than a well-fitted halo strap. The K4 Boost is the value choice, not a universal comfort winner.
BOBOVR E3 Pro: the better battery-focused elite-style option
The BOBOVR E3 Pro is listed at $79.99 and is officially described as Made for Meta certified. It supports Quest 3 and Quest 3S while retaining an elite-style form factor.
Its main attraction is BOBOVR’s 10,000mAh B100 battery system, described as 5,000mAh × 2. BOBOVR claims three to four hours of additional battery life and lists 22.5W fast charging. It also includes a built-in 3.5mm audio jack, an 18-month warranty and a 30-day return policy.

The B100 battery is removable, which gives the E3 Pro a meaningful advantage for long-session players. You can replace or charge the battery separately rather than waiting for an integrated pack to recharge. However, adding spare batteries or a dedicated charging dock raises the total ownership cost, so the $79.99 strap price is not necessarily the final price of a larger battery ecosystem.
BOBOVR lists the E3 Pro at 445g including the battery. That is a substantial amount of head-mounted equipment, even though rear weight can improve balance. A larger battery does not automatically mean greater comfort or proportionally longer runtime.
BOBOVR also says the Quest may stop charging at approximately 80% while it is being worn and powered by the external battery. When the headset is not being worn, it can charge to 100%. The 80% behavior is battery-management behavior described by BOBOVR, not necessarily a defect. It is worth knowing before purchase so it is not mistaken for a failed battery.

Choose the E3 Pro if you want substantially more battery capacity than Meta’s strap, prefer an elite-style fit, value a 3.5mm connection or expect to benefit from a swappable battery system. Choose something else if minimum weight is your priority.
What about the BOBOVR S3 Pro?
The BOBOVR S3 Pro is the enthusiast alternative rather than the default recommendation. It is listed at $89.99, uses the 10,000mAh B100 battery system, claims three to four additional hours, adds a cooling fan and uses a halo design with a hot-swappable battery.
The trade-off is weight: BOBOVR lists the S3 Pro at 547g including the battery. A halo strap may reduce facial pressure for some users, but it depends heavily on head shape and can feel less tightly anchored during rapid movement for others. The fan, replaceable battery and near-continuous-play potential are compelling for enthusiasts, but the E3 Pro is the more balanced battery recommendation for buyers who prefer an elite-style strap.

All runtime, capacity, price and weight figures above are manufacturer or retailer specifications, not independent laboratory results. Battery capacity in mAh should not be compared naively across products: voltage, usable watt-hours and conversion losses matter. The Meta and KIWI listings provide watt-hour figures, while BOBOVR emphasizes its B100 system’s 10,000mAh rating.
Which strap should you buy?
Buy Meta’s strap if:
- the live sale price is close to the third-party options;
- you already own Meta’s charging dock or compatible carrying case;
- you want official Meta support and the least compatibility uncertainty;
- you prefer the official elite-style fit; or
- simple charging matters more than maximum battery capacity.
Buy the KIWI K4 Boost if:
- you want the strongest price-to-capacity proposition;
- you prefer an elite-style strap for active games;
- simultaneous charging is important;
- you do not need removable batteries; and
- the $69.99 U.S. price remains available.
Buy the BOBOVR E3 Pro if:
- you want much more battery capacity than Meta’s strap;
- you prefer elite-style support over a halo design;
- you expect long sessions and want a replaceable battery;
- you want a 3.5mm audio jack; and
- you accept additional rear weight and possible ecosystem costs.
Buy the BOBOVR S3 Pro if:
- you specifically want a halo strap;
- cooling is valuable to you;
- you want hot-swappable batteries for very long sessions; and
- you are comfortable with its listed 547g weight.
Do you need a battery strap at all?
A regular comfort strap plus a separate USB-C power bank can be a sensible solution for seated players or anyone who does not want a battery permanently attached to the head. It also lets you replace or upgrade the power bank independently.
That route requires more cable management and careful checking of output, connector quality, routing and battery safety. Do not assume an arbitrary power bank will deliver the required charging behavior or remain comfortable during movement. A battery strap is usually the neater choice for active play; a separate pack can be cheaper and more flexible for seated use.
Final verdict
The Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery is a reasonable first-party purchase, but only at the right price. Its strengths are official integration, charging-dock compatibility, simple setup and a familiar elite-style design—not class-leading battery capacity.
Best value: KIWI K4 Boost, if its $69.99 U.S. listing remains available.
