If you already have access to the base game, the Premium Upgrade adds those Premium extras without another copy of the game.
What were The Outer Worlds 2 pre-order bonuses?
At launch, the pre-order offer named two benefits: up to five days of early access and Commander Zane’s Anti-Monopolistic Battle Pack. Xbox also said the Premium Upgrade qualified for these benefits if purchased before launch. The game has since released, so these are historical pre-order terms, not benefits a new buyer can claim now. Xbox Wire’s announcement and the official PlayStation listing describe the offer.

What does the Premium Edition add?
Premium’s ongoing value is its included game plus three categories of extras: a pass for two story expansions, Moon Man’s Corporate Appreciation Premium Pack, and access to a digital artbook and soundtrack. The expansions are described as becoming available as they are released; check the store listing for their current release status rather than assuming both are still upcoming. The Premium contents are listed by Xbox and PlayStation.

The pre-launch early access and Commander Zane pack were tied to the old pre-order promotion. They are not substitutes for the expansion pass or the other Premium extras, and the expired offer should not be confused with the edition’s listed contents.
Should you buy Premium or the Premium Upgrade?
Choose based on whether you already have access to the base game and how much you value the included expansions and digital extras. The original US announcement put the Premium Edition $30 above Standard and the Upgrade at $29.99; current store prices may differ.

The Xbox Premium Upgrade page says it requires the base game or an Xbox Game Pass membership on PC or Ultimate; those are sold separately. Confirm the requirement and current price on the Xbox Upgrade listing before purchase. The Upgrade is not a standalone game.

Obsidian’s FAQ lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Battle.net, PlayStation 5, and Steam. Xbox Wire also announced Xbox Cloud availability and day-one Game Pass access. Those access conditions are specific; they do not mean every purchase automatically grants access on every storefront. - The Art of The Outer Worlds 2: a hardcover art book featuring concept art, character designs, environments, and developer commentary.
- The Outer Worlds 2: The Moon Man Statue: a 10-inch-tall statue with LED-lit rocket exhaust and a glowing crater dome. Xbox Wire described the run as limited to 500 pieces.
The announcement named Dark Horse Direct as the pre-order channel at the time. It does not establish current stock, other sellers, or current retail availability. Treat the book and statue as separate collector products, and check a seller’s live listing before relying on availability.
