Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIn The Outer Worlds 2, recover 10 Science Adventure Quarterly magazines on Eden’s Paradise Island and return them to Redactor Quesnel. You can collect them in any convenient order; return after five for the first reported reward, then again after all 10 for the completion rewards. The location landmarks below are more reliable than issue numbers, which differ among published guides.
How to start the quest and claim its rewards
Redactor Quesnel is at her shack west of Fairfield. GamesRecon says speaking with her can trigger the quest; GameSpot says finding a magazine starts it. If the quest is not active, talk to Quesnel, or pick up a volume and check your journal.
Collect the magazines as you explore Paradise Island. Once you have five, return to Quesnel to claim the first reported reward. Bring her all 10 for the completion rewards. The guides do not establish a required collection order.
- After five: GameSpot reports the Josephus Fielder Pitchball Card.
- After all 10: GameSpot reports Townie Clothing and the Serial Fanatic perk. It describes Townie Clothing as granting +20% evasion chance and +50% combat sprint speed, and Serial Fanatic as reducing companion ability charging time by 15%.
These are reported in-game rewards and effects, not external performance measurements. GameSpot’s quest guide covers the turn-ins and rewards.

Where to find all 10 magazines
Use these geographic anchors as a checklist while exploring. Published guides do not consistently match issue numbers to locations, and some describe nearby buildings differently. Check your in-game journal and map marker if a volume label or landmark does not line up.
- North of the Ministry of Accuracy: Search outside a ruined house. GameSpot describes a volume in front of the house; Wccftech places one on a table outside a house and mentions a malfunctioning door nearby.
- Due north of Quesnel’s house: Check the small building north of her home.
- At the Crabbing Tower: Climb the ladder at the rear and search the office room at the top. Wccftech also describes an upper-floor pickup.
- Between the Crabble Spawning Grounds and Crabbing Tower: Look inside the house. Its door requires Engineering 1 or the Brawny trait to unjam, according to GameSpot.
- Southernmost map edge: Search the table outside a house near the Befuddled Fisherman.
- East of Fairfield: Check the house or hut east of town; guides describe a nearby bed as a landmark.
- Westport: Search the single-storey house on the settlement’s outskirts. Other guide descriptions point to flooded residences in the northwest of Westport.
- North of the river, near the Vox Relay: Look for a route across debris or an elevator approach from the Vox Relay side.
- Fenced farm west of the Vox Relay: Search the storage building or farm hut in this area and use the local map marker to identify the right structure.
- Northern coast: Check outdoor tables around the coastal shacks. Guide landmarks include a table by a lantern and the area near Skycutter A102.
The location descriptions draw on GameSpot, Wccftech, and GamesRecon. They agree on the 10-magazine quest but differ on some issue numbering and precise location descriptions, so treat the map and landmarks—not guide numbering—as your checks.

How to pace the search
There is no universally established best route: the locations span Westport, Fairfield’s surroundings, the Ministry of Accuracy area, the Crabbing Tower, the southern docks, and the north of the island. Gather nearby volumes while doing other Paradise Island objectives, then decide whether to turn in at five or keep exploring before returning to Quesnel.
Some locations add traversal friction. The house between the spawning grounds and tower needs Engineering 1 or Brawny to open its jammed door; the river-area pickup can be approached by more than one route. Watch for hostile creatures around selected locations, and use newly available fast-travel points where convenient. Wccftech’s suggested route passes fast-travel points, but it is a guide route rather than a proven fastest option for every character or quest state.
