The River’s Fury is Jianghu Legacy 09 in Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet. To start it, speak to the Wayfarer at Roaring Sands, then track it through Exploration → Side Story. The route begins at Eternal Solitude Hall and centers on redirecting water from Dragonheads into wheels to change water levels and open the way forward.
How to unlock The River’s Fury
- At Roaring Sands, speak to the Wayfarer and unlock Jianghu Legacy 09.
- Open Exploration → Side Story and track The River’s Fury to reveal its location.
- Travel to Eternal Solitude Hall, near Fallen Invader’s Mound. If you have unlocked its Boundary Stone, use it to teleport there.
Deliver the anomalies and open the underground route
- After the opening scene, speak with the Eccentric Elder.
- Use Wind Sense to locate the two anomalies. The Dusty Spirit Tablet is to the Elder’s right when you face him, near rubble and a fence. The vial is on a pedestal up the stairs to the left.
- Bring both items to the Elder. Then take his place and bow toward the altar to open the route below.
Lower the first water level and descend
- In the underground chamber, approach the altar and read the clue.
- Step on the slab to activate the Water Dragonhead.
- Use Tai Chi to redirect the Dragonhead’s stream onto the water wheel. Turning the wheel changes the pool’s water level and opens the next route.
- Watch for the red plants in the chamber; the walkthrough describes them as exploding on contact. Continue along the exposed route, investigate the tremors, descend the stairs, and jump through the hole.
Navigate the flooded chambers
Dive through the underwater passage to reach the next flooded area. The next reported mechanism uses a movable statue and a Stone Slab to activate another Dragonhead. Redirect its stream with Tai Chi so it turns a wheel; the resulting water level lets you reach a gate.
Further chambers repeat the same core logic: activate a Dragonhead with a slab or lever, aim its water at a wheel, then use the changed water level to reach a lower floor or open a gate. If the route is unclear, check the active quest objective and look for the intended wheel before adjusting the stream. Exact names or prompts may vary with localization or game updates.
Later objectives and quest completion
A secondary walkthrough reports that the later route includes a Luoshu Fragment used to repair a Water Dragonhead, followed by the Red Fish Sword and Nuo Dance Mask, an encounter with a large fish, and an examination of remains in the final burial chamber. It then sends you back to Eternal Solitude Hall to perform a salute and complete the quest. Follow the current in-game objective text if a label or step differs; these later details are reported by a secondary guide rather than a quest-specific official guide.

If a water puzzle will not advance
- Confirm the Dragonhead is active; stepping on its slab or operating its lever may be required first.
- Use Tai Chi to point the stream directly at the wheel, not merely into the pool.
- Turn the wheel after redirecting the water, then check whether the raised or lowered level has exposed a passage, gate, or lower route.
- Recheck the tracked quest objective if an interaction prompt does not appear. Localization and patches can change exact labels.
