The Rook: Arrival is a brief safehouse interlude in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, not a combat mission. To complete its required progression, speak with Woods, choose an upgrade station at the Acquisition Desk, then interact with the Evidence Board to continue to Blood Feud. Safehouse puzzles and the upstairs safe are optional diversions.
How do I complete The Rook: Arrival?
- Speak with Woods. After the preceding conversation, find Woods near the Acquisition Desk and talk to him.
- Choose an upgrade station. Use the Acquisition Desk to select a station. You can optionally redeem one perk from the station you choose; other stations can be unlocked later with campaign cash.
- Decide whether to explore. You can look around the safehouse and attempt its puzzles before advancing, or go straight to the Evidence Board.
- Interact with the Evidence Board. When you are ready to leave the interlude, use the board to proceed to Blood Feud.
This sequence follows the mission walkthrough published by Game8, last updated October 25, 2024. Call of Duty describes the Evidence Board as a place to check between missions for additional intel and mission briefings, so it also serves as the safehouse’s briefing hub.

What do I do at the Acquisition Desk?
Select an upgrade station to make the required progression choice. The walkthrough says you may also redeem one perk from that station at this point. It does not make optional safehouse puzzles a prerequisite for using the board or moving to the next mission.

Campaign cash has a broader safehouse purpose: Call of Duty says cash piles can be invested in renovations, with customization options available as the safehouse evolves. The official overview explains that loop in its Black Ops 6 campaign guide.

Should I solve the safehouse puzzles before moving on?
Only if you want to spend time on optional completionist content now. The Game8 walkthrough describes several safehouse puzzles and a safe on the second floor; it reports that the safe rewards $1,000, an exclusive knife blueprint, and an achievement for completing the safehouse puzzle set. Treat that exact reward combination as guide-reported: the official campaign overview confirms a “Case Cracker” melee-knife blueprint among campaign rewards, but does not confirm that specific safe’s contents.
- Proceed now if your priority is continuing the campaign. Use the Evidence Board; the basic progression does not require solving every puzzle first.
- Explore first if you want the guide-reported safe reward or are pursuing safehouse challenges. Game8 also lists “The Puzzles” for completing the puzzle set, “Detail Devourer” for choosing every available dialogue tree on every visit to The Rook, and “Dipped in Gold” for purchasing all safehouse and player upgrades. Those criteria are guide-reported rather than detailed in the official pages cited here.
How do I get to Blood Feud?
Interact with the Evidence Board after speaking with Woods and making your Acquisition Desk choice. That advances the campaign to Blood Feud, the next mission in Game8’s listed order. The board provides between-mission intel and briefings, according to Call of Duty’s official campaign article.

Where does The Rook: Arrival fit in the campaign?
Game8 lists The Rook: Arrival as the second campaign mission, after Bishop Takes Rook and before Blood Feud. It identifies the setting as Burgas Province, Bulgaria, and gives the in-game date and time as January 29, 1992, at 07:32 EET, with William “Case” Calderon as the playable character. These are secondary-guide details; the official pages cited above establish the safehouse and board context but do not confirm those mission-specific particulars.
