In both Legacy Editions, press Ctrl+Shift+C to open the cheat bar. In The Sims, type a code and press Enter. In The Sims 2, first enter boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, press Enter, then enter the cheat you want and press Enter. Below are the common cheats EA documents for each game—not a guarantee of every command that may work in every expansion, save, or build.
How to open the cheat bar
EA’s guides give the same keyboard shortcut for both PC games, but the Sims 2 instructions add a setup command. The steps below follow EA’s current Legacy Edition support guides: The Sims: Legacy Edition game control guide and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection game control guide for PC.

Destructive commands: Save before using deleteAllCharacters, deleteAllObjects, deleteAllDoors, or deleteAllWalls. The first deletes neighborhood characters; the others remove broad groups of lot content.
