They began rolling out on January 31, 2025, and each includes the original game plus the classic packs EA lists for that collection. The 25th Birthday Bundle combines both collections. “All DLC” is best understood as those enumerated packs—not a guarantee that every historical release or separately sold item is included.
What’s included in each Steam collection?
EA’s collection pages enumerate the included games and packs. The lists below describe the classic Sims content in each collection.

EA lists the game and these packs on its The Sims 2: Legacy Collection page. EA also sells a combined 25th Birthday Bundle containing both Legacy Collections, as described in its 25th anniversary announcement.

When did the collections come out, and where can you play them?
EA said the Legacy Collections began rolling out on January 31, 2025, through the EA app, Epic Games Store, and Steam for modern Windows PCs. Steam gives January 31, 2025 as the release date for The Sims 2 Legacy Collection. The cited official information establishes Windows support; it does not establish macOS or console support for these collections.
EA’s Sims 2 product page currently surfaces March 10, 2026, while EA’s anniversary announcement and Steam listing identify January 31, 2025. The reviewed pages do not explain the discrepancy, so January 31, 2025 is the supported date for the original rollout rather than treating the later EA page date as the launch.

What should you check before buying?
- Which game you want: the two collections are separate purchases; the Birthday Bundle contains both.
- Included content: compare the pack lists above against what you want to play. “All DLC” should not be read beyond the packs EA specifically names.
- Storefront and account: Steam players must link their Steam and EA accounts to play The Sims 2 Legacy Collection, according to the Steam listing. EA also lists the EA app and Epic Games Store as storefronts.
- Windows compatibility: check the current product page and your PC against its live requirements. EA lists Windows 10 as the Sims 2 collection’s minimum operating system; requirements and compatibility details can change.
- Current local price: check the regional store listing before purchase. Prices, currency, promotions, and availability vary by region and over time.
What do the collections cost?
EA’s anniversary announcement gave launch retail prices of $19.99 for The Sims: Legacy Collection, $29.99 for The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, and $39.99 for the 25th Birthday Bundle. Those are historical launch prices, not a statement of current pricing. Use the live listings on Steam or EA’s collection pages to check today’s price and availability for your region.
EA’s anniversary announcement also mentioned Sims 4 kits bundled with the collections. Those are distinct from the classic Sims expansion and stuff packs listed above, so check the current store description for the precise offer and terms.
