Can you still play The Sims Mobile?
No. EA said The Sims Mobile requires online servers to play, and that playing in any form would not be possible after the January 20, 2026 closure. Reinstalling an app-store copy does not restore access after the servers have shut down.

What happened to saves, purchases, and unused currency?
Saved progress
EA said player progress was stored on its servers and would no longer be available after closure. The Sims Mobile team put it plainly: “Because game progress is stored on our servers, saved data will no longer be available.”
Purchases and currency
Purchases made before October 20, 2025 remained usable in the game until the server closure. EA said unused currency would not be refunded afterward. Real-money purchases were disabled with the final update, and Build Mode and Create A Sim items became free on January 6, 2026.

Why was The Sims Mobile delisted before it shut down?
Delisting and server closure were separate steps. Delisting on October 21, 2025 removed the game from the app stores for new downloads, while players who had previously downloaded it could still re-download it from their libraries through January 20, 2026. The later server shutdown ended play for everyone because the game depended on EA’s online service.
