Spoilers ahead. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has two credits scenes: Fox McCloud and Lumalee appear midway through the credits, while Princess Daisy is introduced in the final scene. Fox also has a role in the story itself, so his appearance is more than a quick background cameo.

Is Fox McCloud in the Mario Galaxy movie?
Yes. Fox is part of the story, helping the group get to Bowser Jr.’s planet, and then appears in a mid-credits scene. GamesRadar also reports that his backstory briefly shows fellow Star Fox characters Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, Krystal and Slippy Toad. Those crew appearances are brief; Fox’s role is more substantial.

Are there post-credits scenes?
Yes. There are two: one during the credits and one at the very end. Stay through the full credits if you want to see both.
Mid-credits scene: Fox and Lumalee
At the prison holding Bowser and Bowser Jr., Fox speaks with Lumalee. He says he is heading home after his Arwing is repaired. The scene points toward Fox’s next destination, but it is not an official announcement of a Star Fox film or other project.
Rank #2
Final credits scene: Daisy and Ukiki
The last scene introduces Princess Daisy. She intervenes after Ukiki steals a passerby’s belongings, giving Daisy a brief moment in the film’s closing tag. The introduction may invite speculation about what comes next, but the scene itself does not confirm a future movie.

When and where was the movie released?
Nintendo said the film opened in the United States and many other markets on April 1, 2026; Japan’s release was April 24, with select territories releasing during April. Dates therefore depend on territory. Nintendo describes the animated film as based on the Super Mario Bros. world, produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, co-financed by Nintendo and Universal Pictures, and released worldwide by Universal. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic directed, with Matthew Fogel as screenwriter. See Nintendo’s March 10, 2026 release announcement for release and cast details.

Nintendo’s announcement named Donald Glover as Yoshi, Issa Rae as Honey Queen and Luis Guzmán as Wart, alongside returning and previously announced cast members. The prior 2023 film earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide, according to Nintendo’s January 25, 2026 announcement; that figure is for the predecessor, not this movie.
