Pin down when the failure happens
Note whether the game closes at launch, after the GameMill and Flux logos, while loading, or during play. Record any error text and whether the game freezes, returns to the desktop, or leaves a black screen. This information helps distinguish symptoms; it does not identify a cause by itself.

Verify the game’s installed files

Restart the PC and retry once
After saving other work, restart Windows and try launching the game again. A restart is a simple general diagnostic; it should not be treated as evidence that the game has a known crash fix.

For a black screen after the logos, consider a different install path
In a Steam Community discussion opened June 23, 2025, one player reported that reinstalling to a different hard drive stopped the game hanging on a black screen after the GameMill and Flux logos. The player suspected a space in the previous Steam directory path, but that cause was not confirmed. Treat the report as a possible workaround, not a guaranteed fix. Prepare a useful support report if it still crashes
Contact the game publisher or your storefront’s support and include the crash timing, exact error text (or say that no error appears), PC specifications, storefront, and any recent changes such as updates or a new installation location. These details make the problem more actionable than reporting only that the game crashes.
