Spoiler-aware guide: These are a few reported references to look for in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, not a verified or exhaustive list. The available source reports the references but does not establish precise object locations, quest branches, or activation steps; those details are left open rather than guessed.

Base-game references
“The Fall of the House of Reardon” and Edgar Allan Poe
An indexed secondary catalogue reports at least two Poe references in this quest. It does not identify the objects or say which quest branch contains them, so there is not enough substantiated detail to give a reliable step-by-step route. The allusion is a reported interpretation, not a developer-confirmed explanation.
“A Few Remarks on Basilisks and Cockatrices” and Little Red Riding Hood
The in-game book’s title is reported to introduce a joke about Little Red Riding Hood. The available source does not give the passage or a dependable way to find the book. Read the text in-game before treating the connection as more than a secondary-source report.
Expansion reference
“The Secret Life of Count Romilly” in Hearts of Stone
This quest title is reported to echo James Thurber’s “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.” The connection is an interpretation of the title; no authoritative confirmation of intent is established. It is expansion content, not a base-game quest.

A bestiary allusion to check in-game
The cyclops entry attributed to “Odess Thaka”
The catalogue reports an allusion in a cyclops bestiary entry and attributes it to “Odess Thaka.” Because the exact wording and attribution have not been independently established here, this guide does not quote or explain the line. Check the entry in your game before relying on the reported attribution.

CD PROJEKT RED’s rewards page covers both the base game and Complete Edition and lists PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platform groupings. The publisher announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered launched on September 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with native Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net releases also announced. The announcement says current owners can access Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine at no additional cost, and describes Songs of the Past as a paid expansion planned for 2027. Check your platform and installed version: that announcement does not establish whether every reported reference appears identically across releases. See the publisher’s remaster announcement for its stated availability and ownership details.
