Yes. CD PROJEKT RED lists the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D as one of two CPU options for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered’s Path Tracing configuration. But it is part of a complete target system: the listed GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, and the 2160p/60 FPS target assumes DLSS and Frame Generation are enabled.
What CD PROJEKT RED lists for Path Tracing
The published configuration is a target from CD PROJEKT RED, not an independent benchmark or a promise that every scene will run at the listed frame rate.

These values are CD PROJEKT RED’s Path Tracing configuration, transcribed by PC Gamer on September 29, 2026. The 60 FPS figure is a configuration target, not an independently measured average.
What the 9800X3D listing does—and does not—mean
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is explicitly named, alongside the Intel Core i9-13900K. The table does not rank the two CPUs or show that either one alone produces the target performance. The GPU, memory, resolution and enabled rendering features are part of the same configuration.

In particular, buying or already owning a 9800X3D does not establish that a PC will reach 60 FPS with Path Tracing. CD PROJEKT RED’s requirements page says the Path Tracing configuration was measured with upscaling and Frame Generation switched on. It also cautions that expected FPS can fluctuate by scene and gameplay, and varies with system configuration, graphics settings and output resolution. What to check when comparing your PC
Compare your whole system with the listed tier rather than treating the CPU line as a standalone requirement. The listed Path Tracing GPU is an RTX 5080; the configuration also specifies 16 GB of VRAM, 24 GB of system RAM and a 60 GB SSD. DLSS and Frame Generation are integral to the stated 2160p/60 FPS target.

The requirements table provides no independent comparison of the two CPU choices or other GPUs. It therefore cannot establish how a different processor or graphics card will perform, or whether changing one component will preserve the target. Treat the numbers as CDPR’s stated configuration, not a component-by-component upgrade guide.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered launched on September 29, 2026. CD PROJEKT RED describes it as a free upgrade for existing owners on qualifying platforms; its launch notice also says the remaster is available to purchase on Battle.net and Microsoft Store as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. The upgrade includes Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, including for players who previously owned only the base game. Platform and store availability can depend on the relevant edition and storefront; consult the launch announcement for the publisher’s details.
