Sugar High Score made a video tutorial for a cake inspired by Cuphead, the indie 2D sidescroller known for art that nods to classic cartoons. Its central design cue is easy to spot: Cuphead’s oversized cup-shaped head.
What the Cuphead cake tutorial shows
GamesBeat’s 2017 feature, updated June 19, 2025, points to Sugar High Score’s Cuphead cake-making video. The article presents the character’s cup-shaped head as the cake’s recognizable visual idea and suggests it could make a memorable Thanksgiving dessert or a treat for a gaming session.
That is the extent of the practical detail established in the feature: it does not provide an ingredient list, cake dimensions, decorating instructions, tools, or food-safety advice. It also mentions a separate Sugar High Score video about a Cappy cake, without describing how either cake is built. So the feature is a pointer to the tutorial, not a recipe or a verified guide to recreating the design.
Why the design fits Cuphead
The character’s head gives the cake an immediately recognizable silhouette, while the game’s classic-cartoon influence makes a playful character cake a natural fit. A finished cake may suit a family gathering or a gaming night, as GamesBeat suggests, but the feature does not report that the cake was tested, served, or evaluated.

What to know before trying to make it
Because no confirmed construction details are included, you would need to consult Sugar High Score’s original video directly for its method and materials. The available feature does not establish which cake recipe, frosting, fondant, tools, or decorating techniques the tutorial uses; avoid treating any particular kit or set of ingredients as part of its instructions without checking the video.
