When was Tides of Annihilation announced?
Eclipse Glow Studio revealed the game on February 12, 2025, in a PlayStation Blog post by game producer Kun Fu. The announcement introduced it as a PS5 action-adventure set in a ruined, mystical version of London, with a story inspired by Arthurian legends.
What is Tides of Annihilation about?
The protagonist, Gwendolyn, searches for Grail Shards while investigating an invasion that has shattered London. The game’s setting connects a ruined modern city with a medieval fantasy realm. Its central premise is that Gwendolyn does not fight alone: she can call on spectral versions of Arthurian knights.
The reveal also introduced colossal knights as interactive encounters. Players can climb and explore these enormous figures before fighting them, extending the game’s scale beyond conventional enemy encounters.

How does the knight combat work?
In a November 20, 2025 Xbox Wire article, Kun Fu described the combat system as “Dual Frontline Battle System.” The developer says players can summon and command spectral forms of Knights of the Round Table, configure their abilities, switch between knights during combat, and use them to extend combo chains.
The article’s example is a boss fight against the witch Tyronoe. The arena is split by a mirror, with Sir Lamorak assisting on the other side; the described sequence lets players control Gwendolyn and Lamorak. These details describe a developer-showcased encounter and intended system, not independent hands-on testing.

Kun Fu characterized the knights as more than combat tools, saying the team wanted them to feel like “sidekick[s]” helping Gwendolyn save humanity. The early reveal had already described choosing between two summoned knights with different combat roles, depending on play style and the demands of an encounter.

Does Tides of Annihilation have a release date?
No firm release date is stated in the consulted official materials. The PlayStation Canada listing says “Release date to be determined.” A developer press announcement dated July 15, 2026, said an extended demo would be playable at Gamescom in Cologne that August. That event has passed; the announcement does not establish that a public demo is currently available.

The February 2025 reveal said an Enhanced Mode was being developed exclusively for PS5 Pro, with higher resolution, ray tracing, improved image fidelity, and smoother 60fps gameplay. These are claims from the announcement, not independently measured results. The reveal did not establish equivalent specifications for PC or Xbox.
