The developer also announced a PS5 Pro-specific Enhanced Mode that was still in development at the time of the reveal.
When was Tides of Annihilation revealed?
Eclipse Glow Studio unveiled Tides of Annihilation during Sony’s State of Play on February 12, 2025. Sony’s official showcase roundup also describes Gwendolyn’s gray mist and her ability to manifest two spectral knights.
What kind of game is Tides of Annihilation?
The studio introduced it as a single-player action-adventure inspired by Arthurian legends, announced for PS5. Producer Kun Fu said the idea was to bring the excitement of fighting beside trusted allies into a single-player game: “Tides of Annihilation was inspired by a straightforward idea: to capture the thrill of fighting alongside trusted allies in a single-player gaming experience.” The studio describes its approach as intuitive co-op combat within a single-player experience.
How do Gwendolyn and the spectral knights fight?
Gwendolyn can use a mysterious gray fog to manifest two spectral knights at her side. According to the developer, the knights have distinct combat roles: one can charge into battle, another can defend against attacks, and they can also unleash combos. Players choose which knights to summon to suit their preferred approach and the challenge they face. These are developer descriptions of the planned combat system, not independent gameplay findings.

What is the setting and what will players do?
The game reimagines London as a sprawling battleground where modern ruins meet remnants of a medieval past. Eclipse Glow Studio describes two connected sides of that world: a modern city scarred by a supernatural invasion, and an Arthurian fantasy realm shaped by ancient magic and mythical creatures. Gwendolyn’s journey involves seeking Grail Shards and investigating the mystery behind the invasion.
Colossal knights in Greater London
The studio says colossal knights roam Greater London and can serve as interactive gameplay challenges. Its reveal describes climbing their immense forms, exploring their surfaces, and fighting them. Those details are part of the developer’s announcement; the reveal does not provide independent testing or further specifics about these encounters.

What does the PS5 Pro Enhanced Mode include?
At the reveal, Eclipse Glow Studio said it was developing an Enhanced Mode exclusively for PS5 Pro players. The developer attributed higher resolution, ray tracing, improved image fidelity, and smoother 60fps gameplay to the console’s additional GPU power and PSSR technology. The 60fps figure is an announced target, not a measured performance result.
The game was announced for PS5, with the named Enhanced Mode reserved for PS5 Pro. The announcement does not say that a PS5 Pro is required to play.

Is there a release date or confirmed retail edition?
The February 2025 reveal and Sony roundup do not provide a release date or establish current retail availability, a physical edition, or a collector’s edition. No later status is confirmed by those announcements, so they should not be treated as evidence that the game is available now.
