For a published PC performance reference, TechSpot’s October 2016 test is the clearest detailed benchmark in the available evidence: it measured a repeatable 60-second opening-mission run at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K, using maximum graphics quality and TSAA. It is a historical result—not a prediction for current GPUs or a frame-rate guarantee. Steam’s listed requirements can help establish a baseline, while NVIDIA’s guide explains settings that trade image quality for performance.
What the Titanfall 2 benchmark results actually measure
TechSpot’s October 31, 2016 benchmark used a 60-second segment at the start of the first mission. The run began after the player exits the escape pod and encounters AI-controlled soldiers; the authors followed a repeatable route. They tested 1080p, 1440p, and 4K at maximum quality with TSAA enabled. TechSpot’s full benchmark report lists an Intel Core i7-6700K at 4.50 GHz, 32 GB of Kingston DDR4-3000, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, and the graphics cards and drivers current at the time.
That controlled run is useful for comparing the GPUs in the article under one specific workload. It is not a built-in benchmark of every campaign scene, and it does not represent multiplayer matches, today’s drivers, or current hardware. Frame rate can change with the scene, resolution, graphics settings, CPU, GPU, memory, drivers, and game build.
What the 2016 1080p commentary says
In its discussion of the 1080p results, TechSpot said an AMD Radeon RX 460 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti could deliver a console-like 30 fps in its test. It pointed to stronger graphics cards from that period for smoother play and 60 fps averages. These are the outlet’s 2016 observations in that test—not current minimums, purchase recommendations, or a promise that those frame rates will hold across the game.

Can your PC run Titanfall 2?
Steam’s game-support page lists these Windows PC requirements. They are published hardware tiers, not guaranteed frame rates or a guarantee that every listed operating system works with the current Steam client.

Steam separately says its client supports Windows 10 and later starting January 1, 2024. So the game page’s legacy OS list should not be read as proof that the current Steam client supports every version on it. Check the Steam support page for Titanfall 2 for the requirements and client note.

Which graphics settings affect performance?
NVIDIA’s 2016 GeForce guide discusses 13 performance-affecting graphics options, in addition to resolution, field of view, and VSync. Its recommendations reflect NVIDIA’s testing and GeForce hardware from that era, rather than a current comparison across graphics-card vendors. Adaptive Resolution FPS Target
This option can lower the rendering resolution dynamically when the game misses the target frame rate. That can help sustain performance, but it may make the image look softer. A target is not the same as a fixed frame rate: the game is adjusting image resolution in response to performance.
TSAA and MSAA
NVIDIA treats TSAA and MSAA as distinct anti-aliasing paths and recommends TSAA in its guide. Anti-aliasing affects the balance between edge smoothing, image appearance, and performance; that guide’s advice is not a universal result for every GPU or player preference. TechSpot’s 2016 test used TSAA, so its results should be compared with other results only when anti-aliasing settings match.

How to compare a Titanfall 2 FPS report
A frame-rate number is meaningful only alongside the conditions that produced it. When comparing a published result with your own play, check:
- Resolution and scaling: note whether the test is 1080p, 1440p, or 4K and whether adaptive resolution is enabled.
- Graphics options: match the preset and relevant individual settings, especially anti-aliasing and texture quality.
- Hardware and software: record the exact CPU, GPU and VRAM, system memory, operating system, game build, and driver versions.
- Test workload: compare the same scene, route, and duration, and distinguish campaign play from multiplayer.
- Measurement: check whether the source reports an average frame rate, frame-time consistency, or both. TechSpot’s cited discussion gives summarized FPS observations, not a current frame-time analysis.
- Evidence type: distinguish official system requirements from a graphics vendor’s guide and an independent lab benchmark.
For a useful test on your own PC, keep the scene, route, duration, resolution, graphics settings, and drivers consistent between runs. The 2016 opening-mission test is a historical point of comparison, not a universal workload or a current GPU ranking.
