Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf Titanic Escape Simulator is not working, update it in Steam first. The official patch history records fixes for movement locks, failed objectives, loading errors, Free Roam rendering problems, and startup crashes. If the game will not launch, use Steam’s general PC troubleshooting steps next: restart, check requirements and drivers, rule out software conflicts, and verify the game files. These steps can help with installation or PC issues, but cannot guarantee a fix for a game bug that remains unresolved.
Try these fixes in order
- Update the game through Steam. Patch 1.0.5 was announced as live on September 8, 2026. It addressed movement and progression problems, Level 7 objectives and interactions, Free Roam rendering compatibility, startup crashes related to frame-generation initialization, and stability when ending a play session. The developer said it was continuing to monitor reports, so the patch notes do not establish that every issue is resolved. Read the official patch 1.0.5 announcement.
- If the game will not launch, restart Steam and your PC. Steam Support recommends a fresh restart as an early step for launch problems. See Steam’s launch troubleshooting guidance.
- Compare your PC with the listed requirements. The Steam listing specifies the following for the PC version. Meeting them is a compatibility check, not a guarantee against crashes or game-specific bugs. Check the Steam listing.
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 (64-bit) | Windows 10/11 (64-bit) |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-6300 | Quad-core Intel or AMD, 2.5 GHz or faster |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 32 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GTX 960 or AMD R9 380 (8 GB VRAM) | NVIDIA GTX 1660 or AMD RX 5600 XT (8 GB VRAM) |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 20 GB available | 20 GB available |
- Verify the installed files. In Steam, open Library, right-click Titanic Escape Simulator, select Properties > Installed Files, then choose Verify integrity of game files. Steam says verification checks whether installed files are correct and can repair incorrectly installed files; it may take several minutes. Steam’s file verification instructions.
- If launch still fails, check drivers and software conflicts. Steam recommends updating drivers and temporarily disabling non-essential software that may interfere with Steam. If these checks do not help, follow Steam’s support route for the game or contact the developer. Avoid speculative edits to saves or game files. Steam launch troubleshooting.
Match the symptom to the documented fixes
The official patch notes identify several specific failures and fixes. They are useful context, but an older report is not proof that a problem still affects the current build.

| What happens | What the patch history records | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot move after inspecting a door in Sinclair’s Room | Patch 1.0.1 listed a progression-blocking doorknob interaction that could lock the player in place. It also fixed a related mismatch between camera and movement when toggling the flashlight. | Update the game. If it still happens, report the exact location and interaction. |
| Movement or controls get stuck | Patch 1.0.5 listed movement locking after a bath-house conversation, as well as dialogue or notebook transitions that could leave movement unresponsive or cause the player to walk forward. | Update, then note whether movement alone is affected or the camera too. The patch notes do not establish a universal movement-reset trick. |
| Continue returns to the menu instead of loading a level | Patch 1.0.2 says this was fixed for loading Level 5. | Update first. If it persists, record the current patch and whether you entered the saved story from Free Roam; the notes do not establish whether a particular save is recoverable or lost. |
| A story objective or interaction will not start | Patch 1.0.5 says it fixed Level 7 objectives or interactions failing to start and clarified the Level 6 red-box objective. | Update and follow the clarified objective. A progression stall may be a game defect rather than a PC hardware problem. |
| The game crashes on startup or while loading Free Roam | Patch 1.0.5 addressed startup crashes related to frame-generation initialization and improved rendering compatibility to reduce the risk of a crash when loading Free Roam. | Update. For a continuing launch failure, try Steam’s general launch steps above and report the error and system details to support. |
| Content appears missing or corrupted | Steam Support says file verification can check whether installed files are correct. | Restart Steam, then use Library > game Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. |
If you are stuck or unable to move
Update before trying workarounds. The patch history confirms movement locks in particular interactions and records fixes, but it does not support a single reset command or control combination for every situation. If the problem continues, document where it happens and what you did immediately beforehand.

- Platform and the game’s patch version.
- Level and the interaction or objective that triggers the issue.
- Whether the game crashes, freezes, returns to the menu, or only loses movement.
- Any error message and the steps that reproduce the problem.
This detail helps distinguish a progression or control bug from a general PC launch or file-integrity problem. The documented procedures here apply to the Steam PC version; the reviewed Steam materials do not establish Xbox-specific troubleshooting steps.
