Can you choose two commanders in Turtle Power?
Yes, when the selected legendary creatures have the Partner—Character select ability. Wizards describes the mechanic as allowing two legendary creatures with that ability to be chosen together as commanders. The cards’ combined color identity determines which color identities the deck may include.
- Donatello and Splinter: their combined identities allow blue and/or black cards, according to Wizards’ release notes.
- Leonardo: Wizards says choosing Leonardo allows cards of any color identity because his identity covers all colors.
Those examples explain the color-identity effect; check the current card text and official rules before applying the mechanic to a particular deck list. Wizards cautions that later rules updates can make release notes outdated.
