Hints for NYT Strands on February 6
- Theme clue: “Let’s face it.”
- Extra hint: Among the first things people will notice about you.
Try connecting words associated with visible facial features. In Strands, letters connect vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, and a word can change direction as you trace it.
How Strands hints work
The puzzle uses a six-by-eight letter grid. Theme words turn blue when found, while the spangram—the word or phrase that captures the shared theme and touches at least two sides of the board—turns yellow. You can also uncover a hint by finding three valid non-theme words of at least four letters; the game then highlights the letters of one theme answer. Forbes describes the daily game as available on the NYT website and in the NYT Games app.
