Hints for Wordle #1382, in order
Read these one at a time. Each clue narrows the previous one.
- Vowels and repeats. The answer has two vowels, and one letter is repeated. Parade’s coverage of the puzzle uses this clue, phrased as “How many vowels are in today’s Wordle?” and “Are there any double letters?”
- Meaning. The answer is a noun for a hard, precious stone or crystal. Parade reports this definition clue; I did not find an independent dictionary entry to check the wording against.
- Letter pattern. The word starts with J and follows a consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel-consonant pattern. Its only vowel is E, and that E appears twice. Xfire’s archive for the date gives this breakdown.

Using the clues on your guesses
If you are new to the game or want a quick reminder of the feedback colors, ABP Live’s April 1 explainer covers the basics:
- You get six guesses, and each guess must be a five-letter word.
- A green tile means the letter is in the answer and in the correct position.
- A yellow tile means the letter is in the answer but in a different position.
- A gray tile means the letter does not appear in the answer.
Because JEWEL repeats E, a guess that shows one E in a single position can leave a second E unplaced. Watch for that when the first E turns green and the second turns yellow or gray.
