Twin Atlas developed the hub, while Spaceport coordinated the additional licensed experiences, which players were meant to reach through portals inside Monkey Quest.
What is Hypergalactic: Monkey Quest?
Monkey Quest is a Roblox experience built around Toei Animation’s Hypergalactic property. Its announced role was broader than a single standalone game: it was designed as a central destination where players could enter portals to reach other experiences tied to the same film world.
The launch announcement described possible destinations spanning different formats, including tower defense, restaurant management and themed takeovers. These were examples of the planned connected universe, not confirmation that every experience was already released on launch day or remains available now.
Who made it, and what did each company do?
- Toei Animation brought the Hypergalactic film property and framed the Roblox project as a way for audiences to encounter its characters, setting and story ahead of the movie.
- Twin Atlas developed Monkey Quest, the core Roblox experience.
- Spaceport acted as the digital licensing partner, facilitating the additional games and experiences with other Roblox studios.
Spaceport had announced Twin Atlas’s selection to build the core experience on September 5, 2024. The launch announcement followed on November 8, and Toei published its own company announcement on November 12.

Spaceport’s November 2024 launch release named seven studios developing supporting Hypergalactic experiences:
- Banana Studios
- Boss Studio
- Brave Turtles
- Fire Games
- Intention Entertainment
- Method Men Studios
- Misfits Gaming
The announcements establish the planned roster and hub concept, not the current availability or final names and mechanics of all seven destinations. Toei said seven external studios had signed up through Spaceport, with games or user-generated content expected to roll out over time.

When did Monkey Quest launch?
Spaceport’s launch release is dated November 8, 2024, and says the game launched that day. Toei’s company post confirming the release appeared four days later, on November 12, 2024.
Is Hypergalactic: Monkey Quest still playable?
The launch-era announcements establish the intended experience, but they do not verify its present status or which connected games remain live. Toei linked to the Roblox listing at Hypergalactic: Monkey Quest on Roblox; check that listing for current availability rather than assuming the 2024 launch state still applies.

Why did Toei bring Hypergalactic to Roblox?
Toei presented the project as an early introduction to the film’s world: players could meet its characters and explore its setting and story before the movie. The hub-and-portal model also gave multiple studios a way to create different kinds of experiences within one licensed property. That was the companies’ stated strategy; the announcements do not establish a measured effect on audience awareness or anticipation.
