These are the published event hours, not current opening times. On public days, doors could open up to 30 minutes earlier depending on circumstances. First admission ended at 4:00 p.m. on September 28 and 3:30 p.m. on September 29; re-entry ended at 4:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively. What was the 2024 Tokyo Game Show theme?
The theme was “Trailblaze the World with Gaming.” CESA announced the slogan in February 2024 and confirmed it for the event in its September 29 report. What the event included
TGS 2024 mixed programming at Makuhari Messe with official online programming and a digital-world venue. The organizer’s overview included keynotes, official streams, Japan Game Awards programming, indie-game initiatives such as Selected Indie 80 and Sense of Wonder Night, an event stage, a Steam special venue and official goods. CESA later reported that 20 official programs were streamed across platforms including YouTube, X, Twitch, niconico and Steam. Distribution also reached Chinese viewers via DouYu, bilibili and HUYA, with joint distribution alongside IGN for US and European audiences. CESA reported 985 companies and organizations from 44 countries and regions, describing the exhibitor count as a record. In-person attendance across the four days was 274,739; that figure is not an online-viewer or digital-world visitor total.
