Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered brings three early-2000s-era adventures to current platforms, adding visual and control options while keeping the originals’ distinct designs. Its release is part of a broader resurgence in the franchise’s visibility: Tomb Raider reported a 100-million-unit milestone in 2024, and two new games have since been announced. Those signs point to renewed activity, not proof that this collection alone drove a commercial comeback.
Which games are in Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered?
The collection remasters the next three classic Lara Croft adventures:
- Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999), in which Lara encounters the Egyptian god Set and an ancient prophecy.
- Tomb Raider: Chronicles (2000), framed around a memorial for Lara, presumed dead, with stories from her past.
- Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003), which follows Lara as a fugitive investigating murder accusations and a conspiracy.
So yes: The Angel of Darkness is included. The official collection description presents these as Lara’s next three classic adventures.
When and where did the collection launch?
It launched on February 14, 2025. The official launch platform list included Nintendo Switch; PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5; Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S; and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The original announcement listed a $29.99 launch price, which should not be treated as the current price; check the relevant storefront for today’s price and availability.

What changes in the remasters?
The collection lets players switch between classic and updated graphics while playing, and choose modern controls or the original tank-style controls. Listed additions also include Photo Mode, boss health bars, and achievements or trophies on supported platforms. Availability of individual features and trophies can vary by platform; consult the specific store listing for details.
Are physical editions available?
Physical releases have been reported, but formats and availability vary by territory and platform. Meristation reported that a physical edition launched in Spain on September 19, 2025, for PS4, PS5, and Switch, as well as Limited Run editions for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Switch. It also described a collector’s edition with soundtrack selections, lithographs, dual-pistol keychains, and pins. These are secondary-reported edition details, not confirmation of current stock or availability in every region. Check local retailers for the precise platform, territory, and edition before buying.

Why does this count as part of a Tomb Raider comeback?
The collection extends the line of classic-game remasters, but the stronger case for a franchise-wide return comes from several separate milestones and announcements:
- Sales milestone: Tomb Raider’s official site reported that the franchise had sold over 100 million units by October 11, 2024. That is a cumulative figure for the franchise, not sales of this remastered collection.
- New games announced: Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics announced Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis for 2026 and Tomb Raider: Catalyst for 2027, naming PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam for both. These are announced release windows, not confirmation of a release date; check the official Tomb Raider news page for current updates.
- Screen projects: In May 2024, Embracer Group said Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios had partnered to develop additional Tomb Raider stories for streaming and film, and that Prime Video had ordered a Tomb Raider series. This is a separate relationship from Amazon Game Studios’ work on the games.
Taken together, these developments show activity across remasters, games, and screen projects. They do not establish that the remasters caused the franchise’s sales milestone or guarantee the announced projects’ eventual release.

Steam’s listing showed “Very Positive” overall user reviews, with 90% positive among 1,442 purchaser reviews at the time of the cited snapshot. This is a changeable rating from one storefront, not a critic score or a representative survey of all players.
