According to GameGrin’s weekly roundup, AION 2 led Steam’s follower gains from September 28 through October 4, 2026, with 25,999 new followers. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE followed. This is a ranking of follower growth—not a list of the week’s most-played or best-selling games.
What “trending” means in this list
GameGrin ranks these games by the followers it says they earned during September 28–October 4, 2026. Its article describes follower gains as an indicator of interest in both new and older releases. It does not provide an independent Steam dataset or explain how it collected the follower counts, so the figures below should be read as GameGrin-reported numbers, not independently verified Steam statistics.
Follower growth measures one kind of attention. It does not establish how many people played a game, how much revenue it generated, or whether it is the best choice for any particular player. The roundup includes released games alongside announced, upcoming, and unreleased titles, where interest can build before launch.

How to read the ranking alongside Steam charts
Steam’s official Charts page distinguishes weekly charts from live Top Sellers and Most Played views. Those views answer different questions from a follower-growth ranking. SteamDB’s Steam Weekly Global Top Sellers is a weekly revenue ranking, not a follower-count chart.
The date windows can differ, too. When accessed October 7, 2026, Steam’s Charts page showed a weekly chart dated September 29, while SteamDB displayed a sellers window of September 29–October 6. Neither window exactly matches GameGrin’s September 28–October 4 roundup, so positions across these lists are not direct comparisons.
- For games gaining attention, use follower gains and check the source’s stated dates.
- For sales performance, use a revenue-based chart and its date window.
- For current play activity, use concurrent-player data or a Most Played view.
AI-generated-content disclosures
GameGrin marks AION 2, Family Time, Scam With Your Friends, and Active Matter as games carrying AI-generated-content disclosures. The publication says it uses a bullet-point notice to inform readers. That disclosure is separate from a game’s follower total and does not change the ranking method.
