It introduced the survival-horror game’s stranded Coast Guardsman, the abandoned mining colony of Fort Oasis, and a walkie-talkie voice pulling him into the island’s ruins. The game has since launched, so the trailer’s references to an upcoming release and demo are historical, not current status updates.
What the IGN Fan Fest trailer showed
IGN’s trailer description frames Total Chaos as a survival-horror game. The player is a Coast Guardsman who has been shipwrecked and wounded on Fort Oasis, a long-abandoned mining colony. A voice coming through a walkie-talkie beckons him deeper into the ruins, while hallucinations and a bending sense of reality make the source of the horror uncertain. The description characterizes the footage as showing dark locations and brutal gameplay.
The trailer presents the premise and atmosphere, but does not settle whether the threats are supernatural, psychological, or something else. Its promotional description is not a review or a complete account of the game’s mechanics.
What the trailer’s release language means now
In February 2025, the trailer description said Total Chaos would be available on Steam and Steam VR and noted that a demo was out at the time. Those details belong to the trailer’s original promotional context; they should not be read as a current demo listing or a complete, up-to-date platform list.

The game later launched on November 20, 2025. The official Total Chaos Steam announcement and Steam publisher listing identify Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 as launch platforms. The announcement also names Game Pass availability for console, PC, and cloud. The official announcement describes it as “the psychological survival horror experience from Sam Prebble and Apogee Entertainment”; that is the publisher’s characterization, not an independent review.
