Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Creative Assembly has acknowledged two different graphics complaints in Total War: WARHAMMER III: glitches affecting some RTX 50-series users, and pixelation or distortion in visual effects. The developer says the RTX issue was resolved by an NVIDIA driver update; a separate VFX report was marked resolved, but later players still described pixelated effects. Which case applies depends on what you see and which settings trigger it.
Which pixelated graphics issue are you seeing?
The reports describe distinct symptoms. Matching yours to the right one matters: Creative Assembly’s driver-update statement concerns the RTX 50-series report, not every instance of pixelated smoke, flames, or other visual effects.
| Report | Reported symptoms | Official status |
|---|---|---|
| RTX 50-series graphics issue | Battle deployment-zone markers, fire arcs, and spell indicators affected by Depth of Field or shadow detail; health indicators or campaign UI affected by TAA. The official PC/Steam report lists RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090, and game version 6.1.3. | Creative Assembly staff said an NVIDIA driver update resolved the reported issue. Players later said symptoms persisted on some setups. |
| Pixelation behind visual effects | Pixelation or distortion around objects behind effects, particularly older visual effects, flames, and explosions. The original report listed game version 4.2.3. | A developer marked the report resolved, but later comments described continuing pixelation, including smoke. |
These are forum reports, not evidence that every player or configuration is affected. The RTX thread’s 141 votes indicate forum engagement, not the number of affected users.
What did Creative Assembly acknowledge about RTX 50-series cards?
In its March 26, 2025 Hotfix 6.1.1 announcement, Creative Assembly said it was aware that some players were encountering graphics issues with RTX 50-series cards. It advised them to update their GPU drivers and report problems that continued.

On April 29, 2025, Creative Assembly staff documented the affected cards and settings in an official PC/Steam bug thread. Staff member CA_Liam#6659 later wrote: “This issue has been resolved by an Nvidia driver update. Please install the update via the website to download, or in the Nvidia/Geforce panel.” That is the developer’s status for this RTX report; it is not independent confirmation that a driver update fixes every player’s symptoms or configuration.
What should you try if your RTX 50-series symptoms match?
- Update the NVIDIA driver. Use the NVIDIA app, GeForce Experience, or NVIDIA’s website to install the latest driver. This is Creative Assembly’s stated remedy for the RTX 50-series report.
- Check whether the symptom tracks the listed settings. Note whether markers, arcs, spell indicators, health indicators, or campaign UI change when Depth of Field, shadow detail, or TAA is enabled. Recording the game version, GPU model, driver version, and settings can help describe a persistent issue clearly.
- If the problem began after a game update, verify the game files. Creative Assembly recommends file verification after downloading an update. Its Hotfix 6.1.1 post also notes that mods may have compatibility issues after releases; disable mods while troubleshooting issues that began after an update.
- Report symptoms that remain. Use Creative Assembly’s official bug-reporting area or SEGA support. Include the conditions under which the issue appears.
Is the separate VFX pixelation report fixed?
The report “Heavy artifacts and pixelation on units and objects behind VFX” was published on April 10, 2024, and describes visual distortion associated with effects such as flames and explosions. Creative Assembly developer CA_Luna#1696 marked it resolved and wrote: “This issue has been resolved, please let us know if you are still encountering any issues.”

- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
That status does not establish that every player stopped seeing pixelation. Later comments in the same thread continued to describe the problem, including a user report on August 20, 2026, that smoke effects remained heavily pixelated. That is an individual report, not proof of a universal current bug—or proof that the issue is gone for everyone.
The driver update identified for the RTX 50-series issue is not a confirmed fix for this separate VFX complaint. If your problem is specifically pixelation behind effects, report the effect, game version, and circumstances through Creative Assembly’s bug forum or SEGA support rather than assuming the RTX remedy applies.

What does the later patch information confirm?
Creative Assembly’s December 10, 2025 Hotfix 7.0.2 notes list fixes and known issues, but the visible list does not name either graphics report. Their absence from that list does not show that both issues were fixed or that they affect no current players. The available official status statements remain specific to their respective reports.
