Check current updates before relying on an old fix
Dreamlit’s past notes show that crashes have had different triggers. In launch-era Patch #2, the developer replaced the main-menu video with a static image that it said “should fix the AMD gpu crash.” That update also listed fixes for save loading on low-end hardware, returning to the main menu, and a multiplayer radial-wheel crash. Those were specific historical fixes, not a general fix for every AMD system or every startup crash. Dreamlit’s Patch #2 notes
March 2025 hotfix notes listed crashes when closing the application or travelling to another map during a placement animation, during some Midhaven Tier 2-to-3 upgrades, and with a multiplayer ranged weapon. Patch 11.2, dated July 17, 2025, separately listed a crash on exit after a long session and said it would most likely be resolved in Update 11.3. The newest surfaced developer announcement, dated September 29, 2026, discusses Update 12’s development timing and team changes, not the game’s current PC crash status. For a repeatable game-only crash, report the trigger
If the same action reliably closes the game, record the game build and a short sequence of steps that reproduces it. Check Dreamlit’s current official report-a-bug channel and instructions before sending files. Historical developer instructions requested PC save files and brief reproduction steps; they gave the save location as AppDataLocalTowersSavedSaveGames and identified the newest PlayerSave_#.sav by modified date. If Windows itself crashes or restarts
Treat a system-level blue/gray screen or restart as a PC troubleshooting issue, not simply as an Towers of Aghasba crash. Steam’s general support guidance discusses driver updates and overheating as possible considerations. The symptom alone does not establish which, if either, is responsible; use the PC’s crash details and diagnostics to narrow down the cause rather than assuming that reinstalling the game or replacing hardware will solve it.
