Players could summon Optimus Prime or Megatron, switch them between robot and vehicle forms, and meet the two characters in a dedicated duel arena. The event is over. The official English schedule ended on September 2, 2025 at 20:59 UTC, and the official materials reviewed do not show it returning.
When the Transformers mode ran
PUBG MOBILE’s official English event page says the themed mode was available from the Version 3.9 launch through September 2, 2025 at 20:59 UTC. The Japanese regional announcement gives a different local window, so the end time depends on which regional page you read.
| Source | Start | End (as stated) | End in UTC |
|---|---|---|---|
| PUBG MOBILE official English event page | Version 3.9 launch (exact date not stated) | September 2, 2025, 20:59 UTC | September 2, 2025, 20:59 UTC |
| PUBG MOBILE Japan official announcement | July 8, 2025, 9:00 Japan time | September 3, 2025, 8:59 Japan time | September 2, 2025, 23:59 UTC |
The two end times differ by three hours. If you are writing for an English-language global audience, use the English page’s UTC schedule. If you report exact dates, name the source and the time zone so readers do not compare mismatched figures.
What the Transformers mode involved
The mode centred on two playable characters, Optimus Prime and Megatron. Both could be summoned using a Cybertron beacon. Each could switch between a vehicle form and a robot form, and each had unique skills. Upgrading a character could unlock additional skills. The sources reviewed do not give menu-by-menu steps for summoning, so check the in-game event entry point rather than relying on a navigation path from this article.

Optimus Prime and Megatron
Google Play’s editorial feature on the crossover describes both characters as super mechs that transform between forms and have upgradable abilities. The official Japanese announcement lists the same core mechanics. The sources do not establish that either character was stronger or more effective than the other, so any comparison should stick to documented differences: their vehicle and robot forms and their individual skill sets.
The duel arena
According to the Japanese announcement, when Optimus Prime and Megatron met on the battlefield, a dedicated arena appeared for their confrontation. Google Play’s feature refers to exclusive duel zones as part of the themed content, so the arena was a special encounter rather than a standard match mode.

Neon Outpost, Astro Den and the Cosmic Hoverboard
The themed area was called Neon Outpost, and the official event page specifically names its Astro Den. Themed loot and visuals were placed throughout the area. The Cosmic Hoverboard was described on the official page as a high-mobility portable vehicle, and Google Play’s editorial says hoverboards were used to traverse terrain during the event.
Cosmetics and what is still obtainable
The official Japanese announcement says the collaboration included character, vehicle and weapon skins, hoverboards, voice cards and other items. Some of these were available through Transformers and Optimus Prime crates during the event. The same announcement does not state that these crates or limited-time items remain available, and the official pages reviewed do not show a current way to unlock them. Treat all event cosmetics as historical unless PUBG MOBILE announces a new return.
