Start with a clear visitor route, a few coherent exhibit areas, and the essentials guests need—not every room and service at once. Keep expeditions moving to bring in new exhibits, train staff as the museum grows, and protect valuable displays with layered security. Then use guest feedback to decide what to improve next.
What to prioritize when you start
Two Point Museum asks you to build a visitor-friendly museum while sending experts out to discover exhibits and new expedition opportunities. These systems feed one another: expeditions expand the collection, displays give guests something to see, and the museum’s layout and services shape their visit. The priorities below follow that loop rather than assuming there is one perfect opening build.

1. Make the layout easy to understand
Use interior walls to create themed sections and arrange exhibits along a route that makes sense to visitors. Two Point Studios’ February 27, 2025 beginner guide recommends themed sections and sensible routes; SEGA’s launch overview also notes that exhibit placement affects guest mood. Start with a layout you can read at a glance, then adjust it when visitor feedback points to a problem. The official guidance does not specify ideal room sizes or path widths.
2. Cover guest basics before adding extras
Official guidance highlights decorated exhibition spaces, cleanliness, refreshments, gift shops, and enough restrooms. Treat these as needs to monitor, not a checklist that requires building every facility everywhere on day one. Check how guests are experiencing the museum and add or improve services where they are needed. SEGA’s launch description also identifies gift shops and bathrooms as part of guest happiness.

- Perfect Set of Quantity and Size: The set of 200 baseball display case rings provides enough for various collections. Each baseball holder measures 0.6 inches in diameter and 0.32 inches in height, which is ideal for displaying baseballs or other items
- Durable and Sturdy: Made of acrylic plastic, each baseball stand can hold up to 10 lbs of weight, such as stone balls or other heavy items. The ring stand is tough and won't break, even if dropped from a height
- Protection: The part supporting the ball with smooth edges, prevents scratches on baseballs or other collectibles. The ball holder's sloped interior edge design securely holds the ball in place, preventing it from rolling off easily
- Clear and Transparent Design: The transparent acrylic baseball holder display case ring has a modern, minimalist look. Its clear design keeps the focus on your collectible without drawing attention to the small display stand itself
- Multi-purpose: Suitable for displaying baseballs, golf balls, tennis balls, eggs, crystal balls, marbles, dragon balls, and other small spheres. Perfect for use on home displays, in retail displays, collector’s shops, museums, or trade shows
3. Keep the expedition loop active
Expeditions are how you find new exhibits, and discovering routes opens further points of interest, according to Two Point Studios and SEGA. Send experts out so the collection and available opportunities can grow, while keeping enough staff capacity to look after the museum. The official sources do not establish a universal number of experts to assign or an optimal expedition schedule.
4. Train staff as the operation expands
Experts develop skills over time, and Two Point Studios explicitly recommends training staff in its beginner guide. Make training part of your growth plan rather than expecting a fixed skill build to work for every museum. The official guidance does not prescribe skill combinations or staffing ratios.
5. Protect valuable exhibits with layered security
Thieves may target artifacts, and hazards can also threaten exhibits. Two Point Studios recommends using guards, security chairs, and cameras together; SEGA’s game description likewise calls out protecting exhibits from thieves, children, and other hazards. Treat security as a combination of measures, not a single device that solves every risk.

Once the basics are in place, look for the specific part of the visit that needs attention. Exhibit placement and themed organization influence the experience, but displays are only one part of it: cleanliness, refreshments, restrooms, and shops matter too. Respond to what guests are telling you instead of expanding every service at the same time.

Add tours when they become available
SEGA says experts can lead guided tours, giving you another way to support the visitor experience. Tours are an option to add when available and useful; they do not need to be the first priority while you are still establishing the museum’s basic layout and services. SEGA’s launch overview also describes satisfied guests as contributing donations and Kudosh.
A simple way to avoid feeling overwhelmed
Think in short improvement cycles rather than trying to perfect the whole museum at once:
- Establish the route. Create a few understandable themed areas and place exhibits so visitors can move through them sensibly.
- Check the guest experience. Look for needs involving cleanliness, refreshments, restrooms, decoration, or a gift shop, and address the most visible gap.
- Send experts on expeditions. Keep collection-building active while preserving capacity for museum operations.
- Train and protect. Invest in staff training and use the recommended security measures to safeguard exhibits.
- Review and adjust. Use guest feedback and the museum’s changing needs to choose the next improvement; add tours when they become available.
This is a practical order of attention, not a tested optimal build. The official guidance does not set exact staffing counts, skill builds, room dimensions, or expedition timing.
What content context matters for beginners?
At launch in March 2025, SEGA described five museum locations and six themes—Prehistory, Supernatural, Space, Marine Life, Science, and Botany. That is a launch-era description of the base game, not a complete current-content list. The official Zooseum update page describes a later museum location, Wildlife Experts, the Farflung Isles expedition map, 40+ wildlife exhibits, and a five-star campaign; it displays build 7.0.206667. Content and availability can vary by platform or region.
