What Ubisoft announced in March 2026
In a March 4, 2026 franchise update, Ubisoft said a free 60 FPS patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity was coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S “tomorrow”—March 5, 2026. The post pointed to a smoother return to 18th-century Paris and Arno’s parkour.

The same update teased a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag but did not give its final name, release date, or detailed specifications. Those details came later, after the project became Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
Unity’s 60 FPS patch: what is confirmed
Ubisoft’s announcement confirms the 60 FPS target and the two console families: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not specify resolution, graphics modes, or a PC patch. Those unannounced details should not be inferred from the later specifications Ubisoft published for Black Flag Resynced.

Black Flag Resynced is now released
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched on July 9, 2026. Ubisoft describes it as a ground-up remake of the 2013 game, built with the latest Anvil Engine. Its official product page and launch guide list updated visuals and technical features, new story content, and changes to combat, stealth, and traversal.
Platforms and PC options
Ubisoft lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its guide names Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store as PC storefronts, and lists streaming availability through GeForce Now and Blacknut. Ubisoft also says the game is Steam Deck Verified. Availability can vary by service and region.
Console performance modes
Ubisoft lists these modes for PS5 and PS5 Pro configurations. They are Resynced specifications, not Unity patch specifications.

For PC, Ubisoft lists support for upscaling, frame generation, software ray tracing on hardware without dedicated ray-tracing support, and handheld graphics presets.
What the remake changes
Ubisoft’s descriptions and launch guide identify new and extended story material, including new missions and scenes featuring original Edward Kenway voice actor Matt Ryan. The guide also names ray tracing, micropolygon rendering, realistic water, and dynamic weather, alongside reworked combat, more flexible stealth, and updated traversal. These are Ubisoft’s stated features, not independent performance or quality assessments.

Single-player and offline play
Ubisoft says Resynced has no multiplayer mode. The main campaign can be played offline after a one-time connection for the download; some Animus Hub features require online access.

Physical and collector editions
Ubisoft lists a physical Standard Edition through local retailers and a Collector’s Edition with physical collectibles. Retailer stock and current prices vary; Ubisoft’s listing does not establish availability from a specific merchant.
Ubisoft’s first-week sales report
Ubisoft reported that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced sold over 3 million copies in its first week. That is the publisher’s reported figure, not an independently audited sales measure. (Ubisoft, 2026)
