Start by checking your PC against the requirements, confirming you have enough storage, and noting the installed game version; then adjust graphics options one at a time and compare results on your own system.
Check which PC requirements you are comparing against
The published requirements are for UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which includes The Lost Legacy. Naughty Dog’s support-page tiers and Steam’s store listing differ, so do not combine them into a single specification. Naughty Dog’s support article is dated April 1, 2023 and has since been updated; Steam’s figures below are from its listing accessed October 4, 2026.

These are published requirements, not comparative performance tests. Naughty Dog explicitly encourages using an SSD rather than an HDD for optimal performance and warns that an outdated HDD may cause issues. Its page lists a 100 GB SSD; Steam lists 126 GB available space. Leave enough free room for installation and updates, and check the requirements shown by the storefront or support source relevant to your copy. What settings should you change for better PC performance?
No attributable current benchmark establishes the best values for individual graphics options or the performance cost of each one across GPUs, resolutions, and upscaling modes. That means there is no evidence-based preset or FPS promise to give every player. Use your resolution, desired frame rate, GPU, and VRAM to guide your own comparisons rather than applying console mode names or an unverified settings recipe.

- Record your starting point. Note the display resolution, target frame rate, current graphics settings, GPU and its VRAM, and installed game version.
- Change one graphics option at a time. Compare the result in the same scene or gameplay situation, then keep or undo that change before testing another. This makes it easier to identify which adjustment actually helps on your hardware.
- Revisit the trade-off at your target resolution. A setting that looks acceptable at one resolution may not suit another; judge image quality and smoothness against your own priorities rather than assuming one option is always the right one.
- Check technical configuration references carefully. PCGamingWiki’s collection entry identifies Direct3D 12 support and collects configuration information. It is community-maintained technical reference material, not a current controlled benchmark proving which settings or upscaler performs best.
Confirm the game version before troubleshooting
Naughty Dog’s PC release notes for version 1.1.20381 list “General stability & performance improvements.” The note does not quantify a frame-rate change or identify affected graphics options, so it cannot establish how much faster the game should run. Naughty Dog’s display-mode guidance describes PS5 Fidelity, Performance, and Performance+ modes, including 4K/30Hz and 1080p/120Hz targets for two of those console modes. Those are PlayStation 5 display modes, not evidence of equivalent PC presets, settings, or frame-rate targets. Use the options and measurements available on your PC instead. What to check if performance is still poor
- Compare your CPU, GPU, RAM, operating system, and storage with one requirements source at a time; the Steam and Naughty Dog lists are not identical.
- Confirm the game is installed on an SSD if possible, as Naughty Dog recommends, and verify available storage against the listing for your copy.
- Record the installed version and your graphics settings before making changes.
- Test adjustments individually at your chosen resolution and target frame rate; do not infer a guaranteed result from a console mode or another PC configuration.
