The offer was tied mainly to purchases of the Samsung Galaxy Note9 or Galaxy Tab S4 and had a stated U.S. redemption deadline of December 31, 2018. Players who successfully claimed the outfit during the promotion could keep it permanently; that did not mean the offer stayed open forever.
Here is what the promotion covered, how the original redemption worked, and what returning owners should do if Galaxy is missing from their account.

What was the Fortnite Galaxy outfit?
“Samsung Galaxy skin” is the common player shorthand, but Epic and Samsung originally called the cosmetic the Galaxy outfit. It was part of Fortnite’s 2018 Android launch promotion.
The outfit should not be confused with Samsung’s later Glow outfit or the iKONIK promotion. Those were separate cosmetics with separate eligibility rules. Samsung announced Glow as a later promotion in 2019; owning a device associated with Glow did not automatically qualify an account for the original Galaxy outfit.

- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms

Epic’s August 2018 Android announcement distinguished the Galaxy-outfit offer from general early Android access.
Which Samsung devices qualified?
| Purpose | Devices identified in the 2018 announcement |
|---|---|
| Galaxy outfit promotion | Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy Tab S4 purchasers |
| Samsung Android beta access | Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, S8/S8+, S9/S9+, Note8, Note9, Tab S3 and Tab S4, among related variants |
This distinction matters. Owning any Samsung Galaxy phone was not enough for the original outfit. Many models supported Fortnite’s early Android access, but Epic specifically identified Note9 and Tab S4 purchasers as the recipients of the Galaxy outfit.
How the 2018 promotion worked
The following is the historical redemption process, not a guaranteed method that works for new claims today:

- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.

- Redemption: Online
- Own or purchase a qualifying Galaxy Note9 or Galaxy Tab S4 during the promotion period.
- Install Fortnite on that qualifying device.
- Sign in to the Epic account intended to receive the outfit.
- Play three matches.
- Return to the lobby after each match.
- Wait approximately 24–48 hours for the reward gift box.
- Open the gift box in Fortnite to add the Galaxy outfit to the account.
These requirements come from Samsung’s archived Fortnite for Android support instructions. They describe how the promotion operated at the time and should not be read as proof that the same claim flow remains active.
Can you still get Galaxy in 2026?
There is no verified current official redemption route for a player who never claimed the original outfit. Samsung’s historical U.S. promotion terms listed December 31, 2018, as the end of the offer. The terms said the outfit would remain permanent for players who received it before that deadline.
“Permanent” therefore meant permanent ownership after a successful claim—not that new players could redeem the promotion indefinitely.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Buying an old Note9 or Tab S4 in 2026 is not a guaranteed solution. A used device may already have been used for a claim, the promotion may no longer issue new rewards, and simply installing Fortnite on a qualifying model does not establish that an outfit will be granted. Only consider one of these devices if it has independent value and the purchase still makes sense without Galaxy.
Be especially cautious with guides that omit the 2018 deadline or promise a guaranteed unlock through a new Samsung phone, a code generator, an emulator or an “activation” service.

What if you completed the promotion but Galaxy is missing?
- Verify the Epic account. Sign out and confirm the email address or login method used on the qualifying Samsung device. A platform login can sometimes be associated with a different Epic account than expected.
- Check the Locker. Search the outfit list for “Galaxy” instead of relying only on an old notification.
- Check the gift box. The historical instructions allowed approximately 24–48 hours for delivery.
- Confirm the three-match requirement. The archived process required three matches with a return to the lobby after each one.
- Update and restart Fortnite. Epic’s current support information says Fortnite is no longer available through the Samsung Galaxy Store’s Epic Games app and directs Android users to the Epic Games app from Epic’s website.
- Contact Epic Support. If you believe the outfit was legitimately claimed, use Epic’s support system rather than expecting Samsung retail support to restore it.
Do not casually unlink accounts while troubleshooting. Confirm the Epic account email and connected platforms first, because changing account links can create additional access problems.

Can Galaxy be transferred, gifted or traded?
No supported transfer route exists. Epic says cosmetics remain on the Epic account where they were earned, purchased or claimed, and support cannot manually move them to another account. Fortnite also does not support trading cosmetics between players.
That means a player who claimed Galaxy on one Epic account cannot legitimately extract it and place it on a different personal account. Epic’s cosmetic-transfer guidance explains the account limitation, while its trading support page confirms that cosmetic trading is not supported.

Account marketplaces may advertise accounts containing Galaxy, but buying, selling or sharing an Epic account violates Epic’s stated account policy. The original owner may recover the account, the seller may disappear, or the account may become inaccessible. There is also no legitimate way to transfer Galaxy from that purchased account to your own.

Epic’s account policy prohibits buying, selling and sharing accounts. Avoid anyone requesting your Epic credentials, promising a manual transfer, or selling a supposedly universal Galaxy code.
Galaxy vs. Glow vs. iKONIK
| Cosmetic | Promotion | Key distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy | 2018 | Original outfit associated with qualifying Note9 and Tab S4 purchases; the claim window ended in 2018. |
| Glow | 2019 | Separate later Samsung promotion with its own eligible devices and rules. |
| iKONIK | Separate Samsung promotion | Not the original Galaxy outfit and not interchangeable with its eligibility requirements. |
Samsung’s announcement for Glow confirms that it was a distinct later promotion. A guide that combines all Samsung cosmetics into one “Galaxy skin” offer is likely mixing different events.
Are emulators, spoofing tools and unlock services legitimate?
No. The original promotion was device- and account-based; the official material does not establish a general public code system. Emulating a qualifying device, spoofing device identifiers, modifying the Fortnite client or using an unauthorized unlock tool is not an official redemption method.
These services can expose your Epic credentials, install malware or put your account at risk of enforcement. Never provide your password or authentication codes to a service claiming it can add Galaxy manually.
