RocketMod commands are not one universal cheat sheet. Unturned has its own built-in command registry, while RocketMod and individual plugins register additional commands with their own syntax and permissions. A player can therefore be an Unturned administrator and still receive a “no permission” error from a Rocket command.
Godlike.Host offers hosted Unturned servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
Use the vanilla command reference for moderation and server functions, then check the documentation and permission declaration of the plugin that owns any Rocket command. The guide below shows where commands run, how arguments are written, how permissions are assigned, and how to diagnose the common failures.

On an Unturned server, a command is resolved by the command system that registered it. The vanilla Unturned layer handles commands shipped with the game. RocketMod adds a permission-aware registry that plugins use to expose commands such as teleportation, item spawning, vehicles, administration tools, or configuration reloads.
Both systems can use the same chat and console entry points, which makes them look interchangeable. They are not. A built-in command may only require the caller to be an Unturned administrator when entered in chat. A Rocket command is additionally checked against the permission string declared by its plugin. Availability, aliases, argument order, and side effects can change when you install, remove, or update plugins.

Where commands can be entered
In-game chat
Type the command beginning with / in the server chat box. Chat execution requires the player to be an Unturned administrator. The server must also recognize the player as an administrator through its normal owner or administrator configuration.
Server console
The server console accepts command text without relying on a player’s in-game chat privileges. This is the normal place to run maintenance commands when nobody with administrator status is online. Console behavior can still depend on the command implementation, so follow the owning plugin’s instructions for commands that target a player.
Commands.dat
Unturned’s configuration command pathway can load supported vanilla settings from Commands.dat. This is configuration, not a way to turn every Rocket plugin command into a startup option. A plugin command must explicitly support the relevant configuration pathway; otherwise run it through chat or the server console.

Syntax rules that apply most often
- Command names are case-insensitive.
- Arguments are separated with
/, not with spaces in the documented vanilla forms. For example, the vanilla ban form is/ban [SteamID|Player]/[Reason]/[Duration]. - Square brackets in documentation indicate an optional or alternative value; do not type the brackets themselves.
- Angle-bracket values in Rocket documentation, such as
<player>, represent a required value and should be replaced with the target player’s name or identifier. - Names, Steam IDs, vehicle IDs, GUIDs, and filenames are interpreted by the command implementation. If a name contains spaces or an alias is ambiguous, use the identifier format recommended by that command’s documentation.
If a command is rejected before it performs any action, verify the exact syntax and the command’s owning registry before changing permissions.
Core vanilla Unturned commands
The following commands belong to Unturned’s built-in command layer. They are useful as a baseline when deciding whether a requested function needs RocketMod at all. Chat use requires Unturned administrator status; a plugin permission is not involved unless a separate plugin replaces or wraps the command.
| Command | Documented syntax | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
/admin |
/admin [SteamID|Player] |
Grant administrator status to a Steam ID or player. |
/unadmin |
/unadmin [SteamID|Player] |
Remove administrator status. |
/ban |
/ban [SteamID|Player]/[Reason]/[Duration] |
Ban a player, with an optional reason and duration in the documented format. |
/kick |
/kick [SteamID|Player]/[Reason] |
Remove a player from the server and optionally record a reason. |
/say |
/say [Text]/[R]/[G]/[B] |
Send a server message, optionally specifying red, green, and blue color values. |
/players |
/players |
List players currently connected. |
/vehicle |
/vehicle [SteamID|Player]/[VehicleID|VehicleGUID|VehicleName|VehicleFilename] |
Spawn or assign a vehicle for a target using one of the documented vehicle identifiers. |
These forms describe the vanilla command contract, not the commands added by Rocket plugins. A plugin may offer a shorter alias or a different argument order for a similar action. Do not assume that an Unturned command and a Rocket command with similar names are the same implementation.

RocketMod commands: what is and is not universal
RocketMod itself supplies the registration and permission framework; the installed plugins supply most of the commands administrators discuss in server guides. Lists containing /god, /heal, /i, /tp, /vanish, /v, /p, or /rocket reload should be treated as examples from a particular plugin set and date, not as a guaranteed current command list for every server.
| Example | Provider and availability | Syntax or permission evidence | Effect and caution |
|---|---|---|---|
/tphere |
Rocket.Unturned plugin command; available only when that plugin is installed and loaded. | The implementation declares syntax <player> and permission Rocket.Unturned.Tphere. |
Teleports the named player to the caller. Confirm the target identifier and permission before using it on a live server. |
/tp |
Plugin-dependent; not a guaranteed Rocket core command. | Syntax and permission are defined by the installed teleport plugin. | May teleport the caller, a target, or two players depending on the implementation. |
/i |
Plugin-dependent item-spawn command. | Item argument format and permission are plugin-defined. | Can create economy or progression problems if granted broadly. |
/v |
Plugin-dependent vehicle command or alias. | Use the owning plugin’s help output; no universal Rocket syntax is established. | Do not confuse it with vanilla /vehicle. |
/god, /heal, /vanish, /p |
Common examples in Rocket command lists, but availability depends on installed plugins and versions. | Permission strings and arguments must be copied from each plugin’s documentation or command declaration. | These can materially change combat, survival, or moderation behavior; restrict access to trusted groups. |
/rocket reload |
Shown in some administrative walkthroughs; exact support depends on the Rocket installation and command handler. | Confirm the command in the server’s help output before using it. | Reloading can affect configuration and plugin state. Prefer a documented reload procedure and keep a backup. |
How Rocket resolves a command and checks permission
Rocket’s command registry receives the command text and looks for a registered handler. In an OpenMod compatibility setup, the listener can remove a rocket: prefix when one is present, resolve the command, check Rocket permissions, and apply a per-command cooldown before execution. The prefix handling explains why a command may appear with or without that namespace in different server setups; the plugin’s own documentation is authoritative.
After resolution, the command’s permission declaration determines whether the caller may continue. A caller’s Unturned administrator flag is a separate fact. It does not automatically satisfy a Rocket permission check. This separation is the usual reason an administrator can run /players but receive a permission error from /tphere.

RocketMod permissions files
RocketMod stores its file-based access rules under Rocket/Permissions/. The two central files are:
permissions.xmlcontains permission assignments and related rules.groups.xmldefines groups, their permissions, and inheritance relationships.
The permission system supports group hierarchy, wildcard permissions, explicit negation, and runtime checks. A wildcard can grant a broad set of commands, while an explicit negation can remove a permission that would otherwise be inherited. Because those rules interact, inspect the effective group chain instead of adding random entries until an error disappears.
Interface-declared commands
For commands declared through the command interface, the Permissions property lists acceptable permission strings. An empty array means the command has no permission restriction. One or more entries mean the caller must match at least one listed permission.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.

Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Attribute-declared commands
Attribute-based commands use RocketCommandPermission attributes. Multiple attributes are alternatives: matching any one of them is sufficient. Copy the spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and namespace exactly as declared by the plugin.

Granting access to a Rocket command
Use this workflow instead of assuming that making someone an Unturned administrator grants every plugin feature.
- Identify the provider. Run the server’s help command or inspect the plugin list and documentation. Establish whether the command is vanilla, supplied by Rocket.Unturned, or registered by another plugin.
- Confirm that the plugin is loaded. A missing or failed plugin cannot register its command. Check the server startup log and the plugin’s enabled state before editing permissions.
- Copy the declared permission. For the documented
/tphereimplementation, the string isRocket.Unturned.Tphere. For every other command, use the exact value published by its implementation. - Choose the narrowest group. Add the permission to a staff group rather than granting a wildcard to every player. Use
groups.xmlinheritance when several staff roles share a common baseline. - Review existing rules. Check
permissions.xmlandgroups.xmlfor inherited grants, wildcard entries, and explicit negations that could override or broaden the result. - Reload using the documented method. If the plugin documents a reload command, use that command. Otherwise restart during a maintenance window. Keep a backup of the XML files before editing or reloading.
- Test with a least-privileged account. Verify both the allowed command and a command that should remain denied. Test the exact chat or console surface your staff will use.
Permission-error troubleshooting
“I am an admin, but the command says I have no permission”
- Confirm that the player is an Unturned administrator and that the server is using the intended Steam64 ID or owner configuration.
- Determine whether the command is Rocket-registered. If it is, locate its plugin permission; the vanilla admin flag alone is insufficient.
- Check that the plugin is installed, enabled, and compatible with the current server version.
- Compare the permission string character by character, including capitalization and punctuation.
- Trace the player’s group inheritance and wildcard rules in both permission files. Look for an explicit denial or a group that was not assigned to the player.
- Reload or restart through the supported procedure, then reconnect and test again.
“Unknown command” or no response
This normally indicates that no loaded registry owns the command, the plugin failed during startup, or the command name is an alias that is not enabled in this version. Check startup logs and the plugin’s own help output before changing permissions. A permission entry cannot make an unregistered command exist.
The command runs but targets the wrong player
Use a Steam64 identifier when the plugin supports it, especially when display names are duplicated or contain spaces. Recheck whether the command targets the caller, a named player, or the whole server. The documented /tphere <player> form targets the named player and brings that player to the caller; a similarly named /tp command may implement the opposite direction.
Reload changed behavior or caused errors
Read the plugin’s reload notes and inspect the console immediately after the reload. Configuration parsing errors, missing dependencies, or changed permission groups can prevent a plugin from registering commands. Restore the last known-good XML backup and perform a clean restart if the plugin does not document safe hot reloading.

Operational safeguards for administrators
- Keep ordinary moderators on narrowly scoped permissions; reserve item spawning, god mode, vanish, and broad teleport controls for trusted staff.
- Record who has wildcard access. A wildcard can silently include newly added commands after a plugin update.
- Test command changes on a staging server or during a maintenance window when possible.
- Back up
permissions.xml,groups.xml, and plugin configuration before edits. - When reporting a problem, include the exact command, the account’s group, the plugin version, and the relevant console error. “Admin” by itself does not identify which permission layer failed.
Quick decision guide
| If you need to… | Start with… | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Grant or remove Unturned administrator status | /admin or /unadmin |
These are built-in commands with documented SteamID or player arguments. |
| Ban, kick, announce, or list players | /ban, /kick, /say, or /players |
These functions are covered by the vanilla command layer. |
| Bring another player to you | Check whether the Rocket.Unturned /tphere <player> command is installed |
Its declared permission is Rocket.Unturned.Tphere; it is not a universal Rocket command. |
Use /tp, /i, /v, or similar shortcuts |
Identify the plugin that registered the command | Syntax, permission, and target behavior vary by plugin. |
| Fix a denial | Inspect admin status, plugin load state, exact permission text, and XML inheritance | Those checks cover the separate vanilla and Rocket authorization layers. |
The reliable rule is simple: use Unturned’s documented syntax for built-in commands, and treat every Rocket command as a plugin API with its own registration, permission, and version requirements. Verify the provider first, then grant only the exact permission the command declares.
