If your Unturned server appears under LAN but not under Internet, it is usually still configured as a LAN server, lacks a valid Game Server Login Token (GSLT), or cannot be reached through its network ports. Change the server to Internet mode, create a GSLT for Unturned (app ID 304930), then use either Fake IP or correctly configured port forwarding. Unturned’s official documentation states that LAN servers are not visible in the Internet server list.

Start with the symptom
Use the symptom that matches what you see before changing settings. This avoids spending time on router rules when the server is simply running in LAN mode, or replacing files when the real problem is authentication.

Why an Unturned server is missing from Internet
LAN mode is private by design
A LAN server is intended for players on the same local network. The official Unturned 3.x documentation explicitly says, “LAN servers are not visible from the Internet server list.” Seeing your server in the LAN tab therefore proves only that the local discovery process works; it does not prove that Internet publication is enabled.
Internet visibility requires an Internet server configuration and a reachable public-network path. A server can be running normally, accept local players, and still be absent from the Internet tab.

A GSLT is mandatory for list display
The Unturned 3 Knowledgebase states that all servers need a valid Game Server Login Token to appear on the server list. The GSLT requirement applies to dedicated servers beginning with version 3.21.31.0. A made-up string, an expired token, or a token created for another application is not sufficient.
Create the token for Unturned’s Steam app ID 304930. You can provide it in the server configuration as Browser.Login_Token or pass it at launch with the GSLT command. After changing either location, restart the server so it authenticates again.

After Internet mode and GSLT are correct, the server must be reachable from outside your network. The official setup documentation presents two alternatives: Fake IP or port forwarding. You do not need to configure both. Fake IP is described as the easier choice for most servers; port forwarding is the usual approach when you host on a home connection and control the router.
Fix the server step by step
1. Confirm that you are running an Internet server
- Stop the Unturned server cleanly.
- Open the launch configuration or server settings where the server type is selected.
- Remove the LAN-only setup and select the Internet/public server mode. The exact control depends on the launcher or hosting panel, but the result must be an Internet server rather than a LAN server.
- Start the server again and watch its console for configuration or authentication errors.
- Check the Internet tab from a client outside the host’s local network when possible. A local test can confirm gameplay but cannot prove Internet reachability.
If the server still appears only under LAN, do not troubleshoot router ports yet. Recheck the launch parameters and the generated configuration; the server may be recreating a LAN configuration at startup.

2. Create and apply a valid GSLT
- Open Steam’s Game Server Account Management page while signed in to the account that will own the token.
- Create a new Game Server Login Token for app ID
304930, the Unturned application ID. - Copy the generated token exactly. Do not replace it with a password, server name, Steam ID, or random text.
- Stop the server before editing its configuration.
- Open
Config.jsonand place the token in theBrowsersection underLogin_Token. - Save the file, start the server, and inspect the console for login or configuration errors.
A minimal configuration fragment looks like this:

}Keep the existing JSON structure if the file already contains other Browser settings. JSON punctuation matters: use double quotes, retain commas between properties, and avoid adding a second Browser object.
Instead of editing Config.json, you can supply the same token with the GSLT startup command supported by the dedicated server. Use one method consistently so an old value in another launch script does not overwrite the value you just entered.

Fake IP and router forwarding are alternatives for public reachability. Configuring both is unnecessary and can make diagnosis harder because you will not know which path the server is using.
4. Forward the complete Unturned port pair
Each Unturned server uses two consecutive ports: the configured Port for game traffic and the next port, Port + 1, for server-list queries. The default pair is 27015 and 27016.

- Find the server’s configured
Port. Do not assume the defaults if you changed it in a launch script or panel. - Give the host computer a stable private IPv4 address, either by reserving it in the router’s DHCP settings or by assigning it according to your network’s guidance.
- Create router forwarding rules for both the configured port and the next consecutive port.
- Set both rules to forward to the host computer’s private IPv4 address.
- Enable both TCP and UDP for each rule. The forwarding guidance for Unturned recommends both protocols.
- Save the router configuration and restart the server.
For the default setup, the rules are:

Forwarding only 27015 can allow some connection traffic while leaving the server-list query port closed. That commonly produces a server that is running but absent from Internet search.
5. Allow the server through the operating-system firewall
- Open the firewall controls on the computer running the server.
- Allow the dedicated-server executable, or create inbound rules for the configured port and the following consecutive port.
- Enable both TCP and UDP in the rules.
- Apply the rules to the network profiles you actually use, such as Private or Public, according to your security policy.
- Restart the server and test again from outside the local network.
A router rule cannot override a host firewall that drops the packets after they arrive. If the firewall asks whether to allow the server when it first launches, denying that prompt can create the same symptom as a missing port-forwarding rule.
6. Check the ISP and address type
Some Internet service providers make port forwarding impossible. This can happen when inbound connections are filtered or when the connection uses carrier-grade address sharing rather than a directly reachable public IPv4 address. If the router rules are correct, the firewall allows both protocols, and outside tests still cannot reach the host, ask the ISP whether inbound TCP and UDP forwarding is supported for your connection.
When the ISP cannot provide a forwardable address, use the supported Fake IP method or move the server to a managed host that can provide the required public networking. Do not keep changing local port numbers to solve an upstream restriction.

Running multiple Unturned servers
Every running server needs its own port pair. Reusing a pair causes processes to compete for the same sockets; one server may fail to bind, disappear from the list, or accept traffic intended for another instance.

The Unturned knowledgebase recommends these starting ports for three servers:

The pattern is intentional: choose an unused odd starting port, then reserve the immediately following port for queries. Forward every pair to the correct host and ensure each server’s launch configuration uses the matching starting port.

File validation is a secondary diagnostic. Do it after checking Internet mode, GSLT, ports, firewall rules, and ISP support. A damaged installation can still prevent a server from starting correctly or loading its networking configuration.

app_update 1110390That command installs or updates the Unturned Dedicated Server (U3DS). To verify and repair missing or corrupted files, run:
app_update 1110390 validateAfter validation completes, start the server again, recheck the GSLT setting, and confirm that the launch script has not reverted to LAN mode or an old port.
Troubleshoot by failure pattern
It appears in LAN, never in Internet
- Convert the server from LAN to Internet mode.
- Confirm a valid GSLT exists for app ID
304930. - Restart after changing the mode or token.
- Only then investigate Fake IP or port forwarding.
It is absent even though the token is configured
- Check that the token is in
Browser.Login_Token, not in an unrelated configuration section. - Check for typographical errors, extra spaces, or a token created for the wrong app ID.
- Make sure the launch command is not supplying a different, invalid
GSLTvalue. - Review the server console for authentication errors and restart after correcting the value.
Local players connect, remote players cannot
- Verify both consecutive ports, not just the game port.
- Forward TCP and UDP to the host’s current private IPv4 address.
- Allow the server through the operating-system firewall.
- Test from a genuinely external network; another device on the same router may use local routing and hide a forwarding problem.
The server disappears after the host’s address changes
The router may still forward to the old private IPv4 address. Reserve the host’s address in DHCP or update every forwarding rule to the new address, then restart the server.
One of several servers is missing
- Compare each server’s configured
Portwith the ports already in use. - Assign separate pairs such as 27015/27016, 27017/27018, and 27019/27020.
- Check that each pair is forwarded to the intended host and that no launch script silently reuses another server’s port.
The router has rules, but outside access still fails
- Confirm the rules are enabled and use both TCP and UDP.
- Check the host firewall again after server updates or operating-system changes.
- Ask the ISP whether inbound forwarding is blocked or whether the connection is behind carrier-grade address sharing.
- Use Fake IP or managed hosting if the ISP cannot provide a forwardable public connection.
Final verification checklist
- The server is configured for Internet mode, not LAN mode.
- The server uses a valid GSLT created for app ID
304930. - The token is applied as
Browser.Login_Tokenor through theGSLTstartup command. - Exactly one public method is selected: Fake IP or port forwarding.
- The configured game port and the next consecutive query port are both accounted for.
- Both TCP and UDP are allowed through the router and host firewall.
- Multiple servers use non-overlapping port pairs.
- The forwarding destination is the host’s current private IPv4 address.
- The ISP permits the required inbound traffic.
- If software files are suspect, SteamCMD validation has been run with
app_update 1110390 validate.
Once these conditions are true, a missing Internet listing is generally a configuration or reachability problem rather than a gameplay problem. The key distinction is that LAN discovery, Steam authentication, and public network access are separate requirements; fixing only one of them cannot substitute for the others.
