VALORANT Patch 11.00 launched Corrode, adjusted several agents, and began Act IV with a midseason rank reset. Riot published the update on June 24, 2025; the map rotation and ranked incentives below describe that launch window, not the live rules in 2026.
What changed in VALORANT Patch 11.00?
Riot’s June 24, 2025 Patch 11.00 notes introduced the Corrode map, revised Waylay’s abilities, changed a few other agent abilities, and updated ranked placement rules for the start of Act IV. The numeric ability values below are Riot’s published game specifications, not independent measurements of match performance.

What is Corrode?
Corrode is a 5v5 Spike mode map set in a medieval fortress and village shaped by radianite storms. Riot describes it as having layered defenses, three lanes, and two sites.

At Patch 11.00 launch, Bind and Corrode entered the Competitive and Deathmatch map pools, while Pearl and Split left those queues. Corrode was also available in Premier, Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush, and Escalation.

Temporary Corrode launch rules
- Corrode-only queue: For the first five days, players could queue for Corrode in a Swiftplay-format playlist. Escalation was temporarily disabled during that period.
- Competitive RR protection: During Corrode’s first two weeks in Competitive, losses cost 50% less RR; wins still awarded 100% of the usual RR.
These were launch accommodations announced with Patch 11.00, not permanent map-pool or ranked rules.
What Waylay buffs did Patch 11.00 make?
Riot said Waylay’s win rate improved substantially as players gained experience with her, but that she remained slightly weak across skill levels. The adjustments were intended to improve fights immediately after Lightspeed, make the Refract loop easier to play around, improve her flow and feel, and make Saturate stronger for its 300-credit cost.

How did Patch 11.00 affect ranked placements?
Patch 11.00 marked the start of Act IV and a midseason rank reset. Riot said players might see a smaller rank drop after completing placements than in prior resets, and raised the maximum placement rank from Ascendant 1 to Ascendant 3. Those details describe the reset announced in 2025; they do not establish the current placement system.
