Steam Frame customers can now check their signed-in product page to see whether Valve expects their order email by December 2026 or sometime in 2027. The estimate is specific to each account: Valve’s October 9, 2026 update does not establish which timeline applies to any individual customer, and an order-email estimate is not a delivery date.
When will my Steam Frame order email arrive?
Sign in to Steam and check your Steam Frame product page. Valve says the page will show whether you should expect your order email by December 2026 or in 2027. In its October 9, 2026 Steam Hardware announcement, Valve wrote: “Once there, you’ll see confirmation that you’ll receive your order email either by December, or in 2027.”

Use the estimate displayed for your own account. Another customer’s queue position or timeline does not establish yours, and the public update does not promise a specific date for an individual order email. The estimate may change as Valve works through the reservation queues.
What does my Steam Frame reservation mean?
A reservation means a unit is held for you to purchase later; it does not mean you have completed an order. When Valve is ready to offer your unit, it will send an email with the purchase option. You then have 72 hours to complete the purchase. If you miss that window, Valve says it will cancel the reservation and offer the spot to the next person. These rules are in the Steam Frame product page FAQ.

Does being on the waitlist mean I’ll get to order?
A waitlist position means you were outside the number of units available to reserve when Valve randomized the signup order. Cancellations can move people up, and Valve says future production runs will be offered in waitlist order. The October 9 update says Valve is working through the queues and will notify customers if spots open, but it does not guarantee an individual calendar date or a particular outcome.
How Valve organized the reservation queues
Valve says signup order was randomized once signups closed. It maintained separate queues for each storage model and for North America, the UK/EU, and Australia. The FAQ also lists these signup requirements:

Customers cannot change models after randomization without canceling their reservation or waitlist spot. Switching models therefore does not preserve the original place in line.
Choosing between the 256GB and 1TB models
Compare the storage capacity with the model-specific queue and the estimate shown on your account page. Since Valve maintains separate queues for the two models and does not allow a post-randomization switch without giving up the spot, changing models is not a way to keep your current queue position while pursuing a different estimate.
