Valve’s Steam Frame order queue now extends into 2027, so some customers may wait months after signing up. Your own timing depends on the model, shipping region and place in Valve’s queue; the only reliable estimate is the order window shown on the Steam Frame product page when you are signed in to Steam.
When will I get my Steam Frame?
Road to VR reported on October 12, 2026, that Valve’s Steam Frame queue reaches into 2027. Valve’s current notifications may arrive by December for some customers, while others are assigned to a 2027 group. Valve is expected to provide more timing information for that 2027 group by January, but there is no published universal delivery date.

That means “months” is a realistic description for part of the queue, not a guaranteed wait for every buyer. Valve is giving individualized order windows rather than one estimate for everyone. Do not treat a December or 2027 reference as a promise that your invitation will arrive in that period.
Can I check my Steam Frame order window?
- Sign in to the Steam account you used when you registered.
- Open the official Steam Frame product page.
- Look for the order-window or expected-order information displayed for your account.
The page’s estimate is tied to your account and registration details. Check it there instead of relying on social-media reports, the date you remember signing up, or another customer’s region and model.

How long is the Steam Frame waitlist?
Valve has not published a backlog size, average wait duration or probability of receiving an invitation by a particular date. The queue extends into 2027, but the length of an individual wait varies with three factors:
- Model: Valve maintains separate lists for each Steam Frame model.
- Shipping region: North America, the UK/EU and Australia have separate lists.
- Queue status: A reservation and a waitlist signup are different positions in the process.
At signup, customers selected a model. Valve’s FAQ says the signups were randomized once on September 17, 2026; registrations made after that randomization go to the back of the waitlist. The FAQ also says the selected model cannot be changed after randomization.
Does being on the waitlist mean I have a reservation?
No. A reservation means Valve has allocated a place for a unit and will send a purchase invitation later. A waitlist entry does not reserve a unit immediately. Valve says a waitlisted customer does not move ahead of anyone who already holds a reservation in the same region. Valve first works through that region’s reservation queue, then draws from its waitlist.

- Optics - Double element, canted lens design
- NOTE - PC compatible with Valve Index is required
Waitlisted customers can still move upward when reservation holders cancel. Valve says future production runs are offered in waitlist order, so cancellation and additional manufacturing can affect when an invitation reaches you.
What happens after Valve invites me?
Reservation holders have 72 hours to complete a purchase after receiving Valve’s invitation. If the purchase is not completed within that period, the place may become available for another customer. Keep the email address associated with your Steam account current and monitor messages during your estimated window so you do not miss the deadline.
Which Steam Frame versions are in the queue?
The Steam product page identifies two kits. Your queue position applies to the model selected at signup, not automatically to both versions.

How Valve’s regional queues work
Valve separates reservations and waitlists by shipping region, so a customer in one territory does not share a single worldwide line with customers elsewhere. The FAQ identifies separate lists for North America, the UK/EU and Australia. For Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong, Valve directs customers to its official distributor, Komodo. Valve says Steam Frame will ship in South Korea at a later date.
Because the lists are regional, another buyer’s invitation date is useful only if that buyer has the same model and shipping region. Even then, individual account windows remain the better guide.

What should buyers do now?
- Sign in to Steam and record the order window shown on the Steam Frame product page.
- Confirm that the listed model matches the one you selected during signup.
- Check that your shipping region and account contact details are correct.
- Watch for Valve’s invitation email and be prepared to purchase within 72 hours.
- If you are waitlisted, treat any date as conditional: cancellations and future production runs determine movement.
Do not cancel a reservation assuming a different model or region will be substituted automatically. Valve’s FAQ says model selection is fixed after randomization, and the regional queues are administered separately.
Why exact delivery dates are not available yet
Valve has disclosed the queue’s reach into 2027 and promised more information for the 2027 group, but it has not released a single schedule covering every account. Production timing, cancellations and the separate model and regional lines all affect the sequence. Until Valve displays an account-specific window, a general month or year is only a broad queue description.

Steam Frame buyers should expect that some invitations will not arrive until 2027. Sign in to Steam and use the order window on the product page; your model, region and reservation or waitlist status determine the timing, and Valve’s 72-hour purchase deadline applies once an invitation arrives.
