Vampire Crawlers takes the escalating builds of Vampire Survivors and rebuilds them as turn-based card combos inside a first-person dungeon crawl. Instead of dodging enemies while attacks fire automatically, you explore multi-floor dungeons, assemble a deck and sequence cards to make each turn more powerful. It launched on April 21, 2026, from poncle and Nosebleed Interactive.
What is Vampire Crawlers?
Vampire Crawlers is a single-player spin-off of Vampire Survivors, developed by poncle and Nosebleed Interactive and published by poncle. Its official description calls it a turn-based, card-driven roguelite that combines deckbuilding with dungeon crawling. The familiar characters, enemies and weapons provide the source material, but the perspective and combat are substantially different.

In Vampire Survivors, you move through a top-down map under continuous real-time pressure as weapons attack automatically. Vampire Crawlers puts exploration in a first-person dungeon and makes combat about choosing and ordering cards. Its central appeal is the same kind of power escalation expressed through a different genre: a small set of decisions can build into a much larger chain of effects.

Combat is turn-based, but poncle describes its “TurboTurn” system as a way to avoid the familiar wait between turns: queue moves, then have the game resolve them at speed. You can take time to consider a sequence or play quickly, so the tactical structure does not require a slow pace.

The key is to play cards in ascending mana order. Each step multiplies the effect of the next card, making the order of your hand matter as much as the individual cards. Wild cards can extend a combo, and the studio says stacks can reach 10, 20, 30 or more cards. Character cards and summoned Survivors add effects to the sequence, opening the door to cascading turns rather than a series of isolated attacks.
This is how the game translates Vampire Survivors’ escalating build fantasy into a deckbuilder: instead of relying on continuous movement and automatic weapons, you create a turn whose impact grows as you add cards and maintain the chain.

What do you do between battles?
The dungeon is a first-person, multi-floor space rather than an open top-down arena. You move through its floors, find treasures and interact with points of interest; the official materials also mention functioning walls and using a shovel to reach the next floor. Exploration feeds the combat loop: you gain experience and cards, collect power-ups and customization gems, and pursue weapon evolutions.

As you progress, familiar Survivors can be summoned to trigger additional effects. The result is a run built from both navigation and deck decisions: find ways forward through the dungeon, gather tools for your build, then use card order and added effects to produce stronger turns.

Xbox Wire’s account describes a typical level as having five floors and says the layout is visible from the start. Treat that as a description of the experience reported there, not a guarantee that every level follows the same floor count or layout.
