Verdansk returned to Call of Duty: Warzone on April 3, 2025, as part of Season 03. Activision described the 2025 map as approximately 95% a rebuilt version of the 2020 play space: intended to feel familiar, but with selected access and quality-of-life changes. That figure and characterization come from Activision, not an independent map comparison.
When did Verdansk come back to Warzone?
Activision announced Verdansk’s return for April 3, 2025, alongside the Season 03 content cycle. The launch announcement framed the map as a return to back-to-basics Battle Royale play, with the rebuilt environment and familiar locations at its center. Activision’s Season 03 announcement is the source for the date and launch details.
The launch also included a limited-time event announced to run from April 3 through April 15, 2025. Activision said it offered 20 rewards, including up to six instant unlocks; that event window has passed, so those rewards should not be treated as currently claimable.
How does the 2025 map compare with 2020 Verdansk?
Activision called the returning map “95% a rebuilt version of Verdansk in 2020.” This is the publisher’s description of the map’s fidelity, not a measured independent comparison. The stated intent was to preserve the recognizable layout and feel while rebuilding it for the current Warzone experience.

Familiar landmarks remain
The launch announcement highlighted Gora Dam, Hospital, Atlas Superstore, Quarry, Train Station, Scrapyard, Airport and Downtown Tavorsk District. These recognizable points give returning players a basis for orienting themselves, while newcomers can use them as landmarks when learning the map.
Selected access and quality-of-life changes
The returning map was not presented as an untouched copy. Activision cited rebuilt details, improved access in some areas and Metro Station entrances among its changes. Its overall description emphasized continuity rather than a wholesale redesign; the announcement does not provide a complete item-by-item change log.

What modes launched with Verdansk?
Activision’s 2025 Season 03 announcement listed 150-player Battle Royale, Resurgence on Rebirth Island and Bootcamp, with Ranked Play on Verdansk planned for mid-season. These are details from that dated launch plan, not a guarantee that every mode remains in the current rotation.
Later updates also referred to Verdansk. In its June 2026 Season 04 announcement, Activision described a 52v52 Clash mode taking place across areas of the map. That was a plan announced for that season; it does not establish that Clash—or any other specific mode—is in the live playlist now. Check the in-game playlist for current availability. Is Verdansk still part of Warzone?
Activision’s Warzone product page presents Verdansk as part of the game, and the June 2026 Season 04 announcement provides a later dated reference to the map. Neither source guarantees a particular mode or playlist at the moment you play, because playlist availability can change. Check the game client for the current lineup and the official Warzone page for supported-platform information and current access details.
Verdansk is an in-game Warzone map, not a separately documented physical product. The official materials describe it as part of Warzone rather than a standalone map purchase.
