That date has passed: the announcement was for the Season 03 launch, and the map was rebuilt with changes rather than restored as an untouched copy of its 2020 version.
When did Verdansk return to Warzone?
Call of Duty Staff announced on March 26, 2025, that Verdansk would return on April 3 at 9 a.m. Pacific Time, 24 hours after the Black Ops 6 Season 03 launch. Activision said Warzone would be unavailable for a 24-hour period during the changeover. The return date and launch schedule were published in the official Season 03 announcement.
Activision described the return as the original Warzone Battle Royale experience coming back. Warzone itself first released on March 10, 2020, according to the official game page.
Was the returning map an exact copy of 2020 Verdansk?
No. Activision said it rebuilt Verdansk from the ground up, estimating that 95% of the play space would be familiar to players of the 2020 map. The publisher characterized the remaining changes as quality-of-life and gameplay improvements, including visual refinements, improved access, and added or adjusted features. The 95% figure was Activision’s announcement estimate, not an independent measurement.

What did Activision announce for the Season 03 return?
The following were launch-season details announced in March 2025; they should not be read as a description of today’s playlist or rewards.
Gameplay and map experience
- Battle Royale for 150 players, with familiar circle timing and changes to circle collapses and loadout timing.
- Movement adjustments intended to suit Warzone’s engagement style.
- Returning vehicles, the original announcer and cinematics, and the ability to shoot during infiltration.
- A Battle Royale Casual mode with human players and up to 120 bots.
Modes and weapons
The announcement listed Battle Royale and Plunder, with Ranked Play planned for mid-season. It also tied the Kilo 141, CR-56 AMAX, and HDR to launch or event unlocks. Activision advertised 20 free event rewards; that was the announced 2025 event offer, not a claim that those rewards remain available.

Is Verdansk still in Warzone?
Official Season 04 and Season 05 posts from 2026 document later Verdansk content: a 52v52 Clash mode and a Drone Labs point of interest, respectively. Those announcements show that Verdansk featured in seasonal content during 2026, but they do not establish which map or mode is live on October 7, 2026. Activision said the Warzone update would launch across all platforms and described returning to Verdansk on console and PC. Its game page lists PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One, and describes Warzone as free-to-play. These are the platform and access details published by Activision; the announcement did not enumerate every platform in its launch paragraph.
