ViewSonic has officially announced the XG273F-2K-OLED, a 26.5-inch OLED gaming monitor that switches between 2560×1440 at 540Hz and a lower-resolution HD mode at 720Hz. It is designed primarily for competitive PC gaming, not as a conventional 1440p monitor that also runs at 720Hz.
ViewSonic’s Chinese announcement and product page confirm the monitor’s core specifications. However, as of August 2026, the reviewed evidence confirms a Chinese listing—not a U.S. launch, U.S. price, or broad international availability.

QHD 540Hz or HD 720Hz: how the dual-mode display works
The XG273F-2K-OLED uses one panel with two operating priorities:
Recommended Free Tools
| Mode | Resolution | Refresh rate | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| High-resolution mode | 2560×1440 | 540Hz | Competitive games, general gaming and desktop use |
| High-refresh mode | HD; exact active timing should be confirmed in the manual or operating system | 720Hz | Extremely high-frame-rate esports titles |
This is not 1440p at 720Hz. The 720Hz setting requires the lower-resolution mode. LG Display describes the underlying approach as Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR), allowing the display to switch between resolution and refresh-rate priorities.
#1 Best Overall
- Immersive Quad HD QD-OLED: Elevate your setup with a 27-inch 2K (2560x1440p) display that leverages Quantum Dot OLED technology; enjoy infinite contrast, vibrant 10-bit color volume, and the deepest blacks for a cinematic gaming experience that standard LED monitors cannot replicate.
- Blistering 240Hz Refresh: Stay ahead of the competition with an ultra-fluid 240Hz refresh rate and a near-instant 0.03ms (GtG) response time; this combination eliminates motion blur and ghosting, ensuring every frame is rendered with razor-sharp precision during fast-paced action.
- Tear-Free Precision: Outplay your opponents without the distraction of screen tearing or stuttering, thanks to dual compatibility with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium, providing a seamless, lag-free experience across any high-performance GPU.
- Pro-Grade Ergonomics: Engineered for elite marathon sessions, the fully adjustable ergonomic stand provides precision tilt, swivel, pivot, and height customization, ensuring a perfect viewing angle that reduces neck and back strain.
- Flexible Connectivity: The VX2738-2K-OLED supports laptops, PCs, Macs, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and Steam Deck with HDMI and DisplayPort inputs
At 540Hz, the monitor refreshes approximately every 1.85 milliseconds. At 720Hz, that interval falls to about 1.39ms—a theoretical difference of roughly 0.46ms per refresh. That advantage only matters when the PC is rendering frames fast enough to use it. A 720Hz display cannot create additional frames if a game is running at 250 frames per second.
What tandem OLED means
ViewSonic identifies the XG273F-2K-OLED as using an LG Display fourth-generation WOLED panel. LG’s Primary RGB Tandem design separates red, green and blue light sources into independent emissive layers. LG says this structure is intended to improve brightness and color purity compared with its previous OLED structure.
Those are LG Display’s panel-technology claims, not independent test results for this specific ViewSonic monitor. The design is nevertheless significant because the XG273F combines tandem WOLED technology with an unusually high refresh rate and a switchable resolution mode.

Ports and PC requirements
ViewSonic says both HDMI 2.1 inputs and both DisplayPort 1.4 inputs support 2560×1440 at 540Hz with 10-bit RGB. Whether a particular system can reach the advertised modes still depends on the GPU, driver, cable, selected input, monitor firmware and the game’s actual frame rate.

ViewSonic says Windows 10 and Windows 11 were tested, but refresh rates above 500Hz require Windows 11. The monitor is therefore primarily a high-end Windows PC display. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles cannot exploit its 540Hz or 720Hz modes in their normal output modes.
OLED-care features
The XG273F-2K-OLED includes pixel cleaning, screen shift, uniform-brightness control, static-icon detection and a hardware low-blue-light mode. These functions are intended to reduce image-retention and burn-in risk by limiting the impact of static content.
They do not make an OLED panel immune to permanent image retention. Owners should use automatic screen-off behavior, avoid leaving static windows visible for long periods and allow maintenance cycles to run. The reviewed material does not establish a particular panel lifespan or independent long-term burn-in performance.

Who can actually benefit from 720Hz?
The 720Hz mode is aimed at a narrow group: competitive PC players using lightweight esports games, systems capable of producing several hundred frames per second and players who prefer motion clarity and refresh rate over resolution and visual detail.
Some esports games can run at extremely high frame rates, but the CPU can become the limiting component even when the GPU is powerful enough. Games may also impose frame-rate caps below 540fps or 720fps. For modern AAA games, especially at high settings, 1440p at 540Hz is generally the more practical configuration because sustaining a frame rate high enough to exploit 720Hz is unlikely.
The 540Hz QHD mode is also the better choice for text clarity, desktop work and games where image detail matters. The HD 720Hz mode is a specialist option for users willing to trade resolution for the shortest possible refresh interval.

Attributed to LG Display
LG says its fourth-generation Primary RGB Tandem WOLED structure improves brightness and color purity. Those claims describe the panel technology and should not be treated as independent measurements of the finished ViewSonic monitor.
Not confirmed for the U.S. market
- A U.S. launch date
- A U.S. retail price
- Broad international availability
- U.S. warranty, service and return coverage
Price and availability
ViewSonic’s official product page shows Chinese purchase-channel references including JD.com and Tmall. A Gizmochina report published on December 1, 2025 cited a Chinese presale price of 7,999 yuan. A separate Notebookcheck report cited an approximate price of $437.
Those figures conflict substantially and neither should be presented as a confirmed global MSRP. Anyone considering an import should verify the current retailer price, taxes, duties, Chinese-language firmware or documentation, power-plug requirements, dead-pixel policy, warranty coverage and return process. As of August 2026, the available evidence does not verify a U.S. listing or U.S. price.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do not confuse it with the XG273-2K-OLED
The model name is easy to misread. ViewSonic’s earlier XG273-2K-OLED, announced in May 2025, was described as a 240Hz QD-OLED monitor. The later XG273F-2K-OLED is the separate 540Hz/720Hz dual-mode WOLED model. The “F” suffix matters; specifications from the two monitors should not be combined.

It is a poor fit for console players, AAA-focused buyers who prioritize resolution, users seeking USB-C docking or speakers, and anyone who needs stable professional color behavior without OLED brightness-management routines.
For a simpler U.S. purchase, ViewSonic’s XG272-2K-OLED is a more conventional 27-inch 1440p OLED gaming monitor. It lacks the XG273F’s 540Hz/720Hz specialization, but may be more practical for mixed gaming and desktop use. Check the live U.S. product page or retailer checkout rather than relying on older price-list documents.
If the high-refresh modes do not appear
- Use Windows 11 when selecting a refresh rate above 500Hz.
- Connect the monitor directly to the GPU, not through a dock, adapter, KVM or receiver.
- Confirm that the correct HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort input is selected.
- Update the GPU driver.
- Check the monitor’s dual-mode switch or on-screen display setting.
- Use a cable rated for the required connection.
- Set the desired refresh rate in both Windows and the game.
If 720Hz remains unavailable, use 2560×1440 at 540Hz and check the monitor manual or firmware notes. If the image looks blurry in 720Hz mode, that is the expected consequence of sacrificing resolution; switch back to QHD/540Hz when detail and text clarity matter more.
Also, do not confuse the listed 0.02ms GTG response time with complete system input latency. Likewise, ClearMR 21000 is a motion-blur certification, not a guarantee that every game, mode or setting will perform identically.
Verdict
The ViewSonic XG273F-2K-OLED is best understood as a specialist esports monitor: QHD at 540Hz for the balanced mode, or lower-resolution HD at 720Hz for players with exceptionally fast PCs and games that can produce the necessary frame rates. Its tandem WOLED panel, high refresh rate and extensive OLED-care features are compelling, but the practical audience is small. Until ViewSonic confirms international pricing and availability, importing it carries meaningful support and warranty risks.
