The Xiaomi G34WQi 2026 is a 34-inch 3440×1440 VA ultrawide with 180Hz, HDR400 and FreeSync Premium. Here is what changed, how to connect it and where pricing remains unconfirmed.

Xiaomi has listed the Xiaomi Curved Gaming Monitor G34WQi 2026 on its global website and regional sites, confirming a 34-inch 3440 × 1440 VA ultrawide monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate, 1500R curvature, HDR400 and FreeSync Premium. However, this is a global listing and international rollout rather than a single worldwide launch with one confirmed price or release date.

The monitor is the global-market counterpart to China’s Redmi Gaming Monitor G34WQ 2026. Its official model number is C34WQDA-RGGL, and the “2026” suffix identifies the updated generation—not necessarily a product first announced during calendar year 2026.

What changed from the older Xiaomi G34WQi?

The 2026 model retains the older monitor’s core formula: a 34-inch 21:9 VA panel, 3440 × 1440 resolution, 180Hz refresh rate, 1500R curve, dual DisplayPort, dual HDMI and FreeSync support. It should therefore be viewed as an updated generation rather than a confirmed ground-up redesign.

  • HDR400 is now an explicit headline feature. The 2026 monitor carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.
  • Higher listed brightness: Xiaomi specifies 400 nits, compared with 350 nits on the older global G34WQi page.
  • Different response-time terminology: the new model is rated at 1ms GTG, while the older model’s page used a 1ms MPRT claim. Those figures are not directly equivalent.
  • 10-bit colour depth is listed on the newer model.
  • More detailed hardware documentation: Xiaomi identifies the model as C34WQDA-RGGL and lists regional panel and chipset information.

The official documentation does not establish that every internal component or panel characteristic has changed, so “refreshed” is more accurate than “completely redesigned.”

180Hz requires DisplayPort

The monitor has two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, two HDMI 2.0 inputs, an audio output and a DC input. Xiaomi lists 3440 × 1440 at 180Hz through DisplayPort and recommends using the included DP cable. Its quick-start documentation lists HDMI’s maximum refresh rate as 100Hz.

For the intended PC setup:

  1. Connect the included DisplayPort cable directly from a DisplayPort 1.4-capable GPU to the monitor.
  2. Set the output resolution to 3440 × 1440 in Windows or your operating system.
  3. Choose 180Hz in the display settings or graphics-driver control panel.
  4. Enable FreeSync or Adaptive-Sync in the monitor’s on-screen display and GPU software.

If the monitor only offers 60Hz, check whether it is connected through HDMI, an adapter or a dock. Also try the included DP cable, update the graphics driver, confirm the GPU output specification and select 180Hz manually.

Xiaomi’s official FAQ says the monitor supports FreeSync and VRR but not G-Sync. FreeSync Premium certification applies to the DisplayPort interface.

What HDR400 means here

DisplayHDR 400 is an entry-level HDR tier. It confirms support for HDR functionality and a specified brightness class, but it does not imply OLED-like contrast or premium Mini-LED performance. The certification alone does not confirm local dimming, high sustained HDR brightness, blooming behaviour or deep black levels.

The VA panel’s listed 3500:1 contrast ratio may help dark scenes compared with many conventional IPS displays, but independent testing is still needed to assess HDR image quality, brightness uniformity, black smearing and real-world contrast. Xiaomi instructs users to enable HDR both in the monitor menu and in the computer’s operating-system settings. HDR-capable games and correctly configured system output are also required.

VA panel trade-offs

A 34-inch 3440 × 1440 VA panel is a sensible match for immersive PC gaming and general desktop work. The ultrawide format provides more horizontal space for racing games, simulations, strategy titles, RPGs and open-world games, while the resolution is useful for side-by-side windows and video timelines.

Potential strengths include high native contrast, a wide 95% DCI-P3 gamut, 100% sRGB coverage, 180Hz motion capability and a 1500R curve that can make the wide screen feel more enveloping.

Potential weaknesses should be checked in independent reviews of this exact 2026 unit. VA monitors can show dark-level smearing or black trailing, and overdrive behaviour may change at different refresh rates. Buyers should also investigate backlight uniformity, pixel-defect policies, colour calibration and whether the listed 10-bit mode uses native 10-bit hardware or frame-rate control at particular settings.

Reviews of the older G34WQi, including coverage from Tom’s Hardware and PCWorld, found the earlier monitor appealing as a budget ultrawide but treated its HDR limitations carefully. Those results should not be transferred directly to the 2026 model.

  • 1ms MPRT: Colors fade and illuminate instantly with a 1ms response time, eliminating ghosting and piecing together precise imagery during action-packed scenes and gaming.
  • Luminous Backcover Lights: A colorful LED light illuminates the back cover of the monitor, delivering a uniquely modern design.
  • WQHD Resolution: At 5 million pixels, Wide Quad HD Resolution (3440 x 1440) display resolution provides you with the next level of refined, and detailed picture over the current 1080P standard.
  • 21:9 Ultrawide: See more and do more with an ultrawide monitor. 21:9 provides you with 30% more screen space versus the conventional monitor. With an ultrawide resolution of 3440 x 1440, expand your performance and productivity.

GPU requirements and gaming suitability

3440 × 1440 contains approximately 4.95 million pixels, around 34% more than a 2560 × 1440 display. Reaching 180 frames per second will depend on the game, GPU, graphics settings, ray tracing and upscaling features. The 180Hz rating is the monitor’s ceiling, not a promise that every system will produce 180fps.

FreeSync is particularly useful when frame rates fluctuate, allowing the refresh rate to track compatible GPU output and reduce tearing. The monitor is a good fit for:

  • Racing and simulation games.
  • RPGs, strategy games and open-world titles.
  • PC players who want a wide field of view.
  • Mixed gaming and productivity setups.
  • Buyers seeking a high-refresh ultrawide below typical OLED pricing.

It is less suitable for competitive players who prefer smaller 24-inch or 27-inch 16:9 screens, console users limited to 16:9 output, or anyone expecting OLED-level HDR and response performance.

Design, stand and connections

The display has three-sided narrow bezels, rear RGB lighting, joystick-style OSD control, a height-adjustable stand and VESA 100 × 100mm mounting support. Xiaomi lists approximately 120mm of height adjustment, 5° forward and 21° backward tilt, and 35° swivel in either direction.

  • With stand: approximately 811.3 × 277.3 × 521.5mm.
  • Without stand: approximately 811.3 × 115.2 × 326.6mm.
  • Net weight with stand: approximately 6.5kg.

The package includes the stand, a DP 1.4 cable and a power adapter. Xiaomi’s FAQ says a separate power cable is not included. A wall-mount bracket is also sold separately, despite the monitor supporting VESA mounting.

There is no confirmed USB-C video input, USB hub, KVM switch or built-in speaker among the listed features. Laptop users should verify that their USB-C, HDMI or DisplayPort output can drive 3440 × 1440 at the desired refresh rate without relying on a restrictive dock or adapter.

Global availability and pricing

Xiaomi has documented the G34WQi 2026 on its global website and regional pages for markets including Australia, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Singapore:

Those pages establish international documentation and regional rollout, but they do not provide one reliable global MSRP or universal release date. Indexed purchase pages showed placeholder values such as £0, A$0, RM0 or S$0 rather than usable retail pricing. Availability, warranty coverage and final pricing must therefore be checked on the local Xiaomi store or through an authorised distributor.

The evidence does not establish official US availability for the 2026 model. Xiaomi’s US page for the older G34WQi should not be treated as confirmation that the new version is sold in the United States.

What to check before buying

  • Confirm the listing says G34WQi 2026 and check for model number C34WQDA-RGGL or the applicable regional equivalent.
  • Verify that the seller is Xiaomi or an authorised local distributor.
  • Check warranty terms, dead-pixel coverage and return procedures.
  • Confirm your GPU has a suitable DisplayPort output.
  • Make sure your desk can accommodate an approximately 811mm-wide display.
  • Compare its local price with other 34-inch 3440 × 1440, 165–180Hz VA monitors.
  • Do not buy it if USB-C charging, a hub, KVM, speakers or premium HDR are essential.

Verdict

The Xiaomi Curved Gaming Monitor G34WQi 2026 is a legitimate international product listing and a meaningful update to the older G34WQi specification set. Its 34-inch 3440 × 1440 VA panel, 180Hz refresh rate, 1500R curve and FreeSync Premium make it promising for immersive PC gaming and productivity.

Its value depends on local pricing, warranty support and independent testing. Treat HDR400 and the 1ms GTG figure as specifications—not proof of OLED-class HDR or motion clarity—and use DisplayPort if you want the full 180Hz mode. For buyers who want an affordable ultrawide and do not need USB-C, KVM or premium HDR, it is a model worth watching as regional pricing becomes available.
